You know, in my opinion, superman has two personalities depending on the occasion on the writer:
1. Boyscout mode: where he's being all jolly with civilians, smiling, and humoring the villains who he face (much to Lex's annoyance). Usually, like this he will try to redeem villains or atleast show the pity
2. No-bullshit serious mode. Superman doesn't smile, he's pissed, he's causing a fuckton of property damage, he looks like he will go in for the kill (sometimes he will or sometimes he wont, depending on if the writer wants him edgy). He's usually like this when he's either done with Lex or it's against an actual big villain like Brainiac, Doomsday, or Darkseid.
I was expecting him to all be boyscout with Eggman since the Egg is kindof a goofy guy, so seeing serious mode Supes against Eggman is actually a surpise. Like, It makes total sense for Superman to be serious if he actually knew what Eggman's were crimes but they only just met. I'm not saying it's bad but I feel Superman should be in boyscout mode for villains he is meeting for the first time.
