I’m not aware of any original plans for Marcy but I think it’s good that she’s a different kind of character from Sasha. An evil Marcy would’ve fit in the storyline that we got. She doesn’t need to be evil right out the gate, have her become evil later on. The catalyst for this would be how her friends reacted to the news that she was the one who trapped them in Amphibia in True Colors. Under those circumstances, and considering how desperate Marcy was to keep them, I can easily envision her lashing out over their rejection of her and siding with Andrias out of spite. I could think of countless different ways you could have created a character that had traits of both. The biggest and easiest way to accomplish this is after Marcy feels like the 3rd wheel at her own sleepover and then on top of that is told by her parents that theyre moving away to a state that isnt a ghetto shithole like LA, Marcy gets the box, sucks all of them into Amphibia but what you change near the end of S2 is that before Sasha betrays the squad have it so Marcy realizes that all Amphibia went and accomplished for all 3 of them was expose how Sasha has no goals or prospects in life and her being able to easily conquest Amphibia because she can made her realize she can get away with this more then she could get away with anything close to this in the real world. Anne and Sasha fight, Anne wins, they make up and then Marcy crashes out because she's again the 3rd wheel in an entire outcome that was orchestrated by her. Going to Amphibia and growing as a group was a moment the 3 of them were suppose to cherish together but what it really exposed is that despite being Anne's first friend, Sasha is Anne's best friend. I know that might sound like how they were basically forcing characters like Cat-Ra and She-Ra together despite the fact that Cat-Ra was still clearly evil for most of the remainder of the series but being a bad person is literally what Sasha is known for.

Sasha is a privledged girl who expects the best out of life despite coming from a broken home. She likes Anne because she doesnt see Anne as a person she see's her as a prize the same way Cat-Ra does She-Ra. So when you do the mutual companionship between the two of them is when you fully pull the trigger on Marcy have her realize that her parents were right. She's way too smart to be friends with 2 complete doofus's like Anne and Sasha. This is when Marcy realizes she shouldnt just take over Amphibia she should take over their dimension as well.

People like to shit on Marcy for sending her friends to Amphibia, but I think that Sasha needed to be humbled and go through pain. Think about it, Sasha was heading down a path which would’ve led her to become an even more abusive queen bee than she already was. If Marcy never discovered the box, Anne would’ve been the main victim of Sasha’s downward spiral as Marcy would move away with her parents, thereby leaving Anne alone with Sasha and all of the consequences that would bring. It wasn’t Marcy’s intention to punish Sasha, but I like to think that Marcy sending her to Amphibia was karmic justice for all of the years of mistreatment that Marcy, as well as her best friend, had suffered as a result of Sasha’s iron grip on the two.
