True, at this point they're creatively bankrupt and jerking off to the porn people make of their characters, riding on the coattails of that deal they made with Netflix. The pilot is still my favorite episode and instead of delving into it we'll just get teaser scene as cliffhanger season 2 bait. They never had a clear vision for the show other than pretty great 3d animation and neuron triggering moments. the first episode was designed to trigger an unsettling fear/panic response from the brain by giving cursed imagery like Kaufmos abstraction, Ragatha nearly dying, Pomni continuously running for her life. Mixed with funny triggers to keep things not totally depressing. It's an impressive cocktail that watered down as the ice melted and now it's just kinda barely scary or funny so they're doubling down on sex. Expect to see it dialed back in the next episode in favor of haphazard "plot development" which they ignored for essentially filler episodes
