Is Digital Circuses Japanese popularity manufactured bullshit? - /co/ (#149171212) [Archived: 753 hours ago]

Manufactured garbage
Manufactured garbage
md5: b7d04a859071b87b8a960f68fbd9683f๐Ÿ”
Greetings fat fucks and loli-loving pedos of /co/, Iโ€™m here to expose why I think your precious Digital Circuses so called "Japanese popularity" is nothing but manufactured garbage.

First of all the showโ€™s ass, itโ€™s unfunny (has literally no original jokes but instead unfunny repackaged memes) and the characters look like they were designed by an autistic teenager, itโ€™s nothing by a baby show for womanchildren teaching people lessons like "talking badly about your friends is wong wahhhwahhhwahhh". This series is no-stranger to manufacturing nonsense

>Jax is their clear attempt at trying to make a "Tumblr sexyman"
>Gangle only exists so Tumblrites have a "quirky" relatable character to latch onto

America loves Japan, America loves anime, tons of oddly specific western shit becomes popular among Japanese audiences all the time like Powerpuff Girls, Happy Tree Friends, Ted, Tom & Jerry, etc. But what makes Digital Circuses popularity different is the fact that the Japanese pop up booth was opened by the guys behind GLITCH themselves. DUNDUNDUNNNNN, all the Digital Circus merch in Japan? All American. Theyโ€™re literally forcing Digital Circuses popularity on the Japanese it seems.

You see, we canโ€™t let shit become naturally popular among a specific countries audience these days, we gotta manufacture everything now. We gotta exploit a country and ride the dick of Japan because "KAWAII XD". Funny how the retarded Xitter dosenโ€™t even think that GLITCH exploiting the Japanese people like this is wrong, lol, fuck Digital Circus.

The first episode has 300 million views, you can't fake that shit unless you think this shit is a google wide conspiracy to make indie animation popular. Digital Circus is popular, like it just is.

OP regularly throws a fit on /a/ that no one wants to talk about Detective Conan/Case Closed, to the point that he makes both Conan threads and "Conan hate" threads just to get responses about something he's interested in. This kind of behavior is all you really need to know about him, but there's a lot else.
>adult swim autism, most adult swim topics are him and his obsessions about toonami, lupin, case closed, metalocalypse, smiling friends, mike lazzo, etc
>fox cartoon autism like dunanville and bob's burgers waifufagging
>family guy, dragon ball and simpsons threads
>various phoneposting OPs on both /co/ and /a/ that are easy to notice either by terminology he uses or just filenames, almost none of them having any value of discussion or interest
>cope, seethe, Xbros posting (archivalbros where we at???)

It has a cute art style with a cute girl and is extremely colorful, I'm sure some Japanese women jerk off to the bunny guy, and doesn't try desperately to be an anime but instead is distinctively western.
Same reason why a lot of them love Hazbin Hotel, which isn't just western it's aggressively American. Same for Undertale. Remember that two of the biggest American cartoons to get popular there were PPG and South Park, which should say enough about how much "good" comedy matter(SOUTH PARK SUCKS)
The Kamen America/who gives a shit popularity is way more of astroturfed and an obvious weeb desperation to get Japanese approval, but I bet it has some fans there.
Didn't read all of your post but I hope that answers something

I always thought this. Why would they want a faux anime? It's like if Japan did a western movie trying to appeal to the American audience, it probably wouldn't be well received.

I feel like they like stuff that are graphically distinct and appealing, unique, has good characters and story, and is not preachy. PPG and the horse cartoon were popular in there, and those weren't trying hard to be anime.

It's a topic that inevitably destroys your mind because there's a lot of goofy expressions and things that we see as "anime shit" but have existed in the most american media ever like Peanuts, then you have stuff that feel so uniquely American but were animated in Japan like the Rankin Bass Christmas specials. Tons of 80's cartoons were animated in Japan even, so we were exposed to "anime-isms" before anime ever became popular in the US.
Then you got western media that is still so cartoony, but you fucking know the creator is a weeb. When does that start and end? Genndy is an obvious mecha guy, PPG has Japanese references. Even furries, a subculture I think could've only come out of /co/ stuff(myth and centuries of lit not withstanding, we're talking about cartoons and fanzine/underground comix) had tons of weebs early on.
Action cartoons from the 80's are another good example of this, because they try to be more anatomically correct, serious, and even animated by Japanese sometimes

I wish we embraced cute shit more even when making serious stuff that isn't some irony-poisoned millennial cringe. /co/ media has more potential to be cute than most anime shit that is just the same style over and over again, even "calarts stye" shows could be good if the animation and ideas were slop

I think the thing that sperates faux-anime with actual anime is, ironically, it lacks variety

Most anime actually looks different from each other, just very subtlety (sometimes it more though)
Meanwhile most anime-epse cartoon share the same generic anime-ism across each show.
Probably why I haven't been too much of a fan of that style, seems too generalizing
