I mean, they’re clearly aliens and/or monsters who gives a shit. Besides, he’s not Batman, he’s never had a zero tolerance rule against killing. Yeah, he’ll avoid killing as much as he can, but if he thinks it’s the ONLY option then he’ll do it.. He killed Quex-Ul, Zalora, and Zod back in the day and of course he beat Doomsday to death and also hasn’t he killed Darkseid couple of time? I know he’s done it in like Elsewords but I’m pretty sure at least one main universe Superman threw Darkseid in to a sun or something.

Doesn't matter, it's generally accepted that Superman doesn't take the lives of his enemies. I can also find examples of Batman killing people, doesn't change how he's generally perceived

well given a murdered world and his own cold blooded execution of some of his only kin, I imagine he was going through some shit after that.

I think it's more than generally accepted - it's irrationally expected.

People don't seem to be as assblasted about Superman killing Doomsday as they do about Superman snapping Zod's neck in Man of Steel. The Superman in Death of Superman could've phantom zoned Doomsday (the cartoon Justice League version did just that) but in Man of Steel it's Superman's first rodeo and he doesn't have all of the crazy doodads that are a legacy of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Age kicking around to solve his problems.
