Depends on how you view it

If you give a shit about Marvel characters changing and growing, it's a genuinely great moment

If you're one of those people who think characters needed to stay "evergreen" then this would be a jump the shark moment.

They keep bringing her back because she and her death became iconic for Spider-Man and therefore harder for writers and editors to not milk. That's why it's almost always about her death and rarely anything else about her.

I am currently rereading the comic and I am genuinly glad it happened cause Gwen was a pain to read about. Peter also wasnt too effected by it. Green Goblin did him a favour cause he was genuinly spending 80% of his time being in a relationship with Gwen being miserable.

Two radically different moments you stupid niggers.
1. Is Peter learning that his responsibilities endanger his loved ones, the point is honed in so much so that HE directly and no one else is responsible for Gwens death.
2. Miki's death on the otherhand is the final breaking point that humanity is self destructive. THEY killed her not Akira, to drive the point home right after her death humanity is destroyed, the world crumbles, and Akira dies while Ryo realizes he destroyed everything he ever loved and is trapped in an eternal loop of realizing he can love only to have it taken away by God because he can't stop being autistic.
Two RADICALLY different scenes retards.

Canonically, hiding evidence that Gwen had cheated on Peter and had Norman Osborn's babies after she got Harry hooked on drugs, which sent the Green Goblin on a rampage in the first place, also throughout the Death of Gwen Stacy, MJ is in full blown hoe mode trying to hook up with Peter even tho she's with Harry

Gwen was a non-character written in a one dimensional way. But then you could say that about many characters. Spider-Man, like most comics, was a disposable form of entertainment with a short creative turn around. Gimmicks have always been used to boost sales and Marvel were successful in no small part to their gimmicks. The problem is that one successful gimmick is often reused e.g. every single Marvel superhero early on was misunderstood because people related to it and Stan kept repeating the line about "the world outside your window". So while it was a shocking moment that did have some change, it was also opening the door to a bunch of gimmicks and repetition. And in many ways a lot of comic book stories that are iconic or recommended aren't good per se, but infamous for the cultural change, hence why people think Death of Gwen Stacey is part of the transition away from the Silver Age.
