It's comparable to MLP:FiM in pretty much every regard. It's just a tad worse in all those aspects too. "FiM-lite" or "Diet FiM" is how I'd refer to Sofia the First.
So, basically, if you've watched every single episode of tiny equines ad nauseum at least 10x like me, Sofia is a wonderful way to get more of that whimsical, fantasy, hugboxy, FiM-esque fix. It also serves as an effective bastion against less savory alternatives. For example, it's WAAY better than G5 of MLP. All those faggots over on /mlp/ were so suicidally desperate for more poni that they continually forced themselves to watch G5 after G4 ended in 2019. Shit was so bad it got canned in only a few seasons. Now they've all gone back to G4 wanking as nature intended.
Whenever I get that desperate longing itch for more FiM goodness, all I need to do is watch a couple of eps of Sofia, and suddenly my suicidal urges just vanish into thin air!
So to answer your question, YES, it is absolutely a good show if you fall within a certain demographic. A demographic which is extremely common amongst posters on /mlp/ and /v/. This is why I will continue to make Sofia threads on /v/ on a semi-regular basis.
