>>149196231>>149196231Start prostituting yourself out to afford books.
Reading this, love her and Bushmiller so much
Even if a strip isn't his very best, it'll at least always be charming
>>149196246I won't make much money doing it.
Is Fruits Basket worth picking up? I've heard it's basically the anime/manga equivalent of Morel Orel in so far as being about domestic/child abuse and breaking the cycle of abuse.....
>>149196253Eh... I only really liked the Jerry Scott era Nancy. Wish they'd collect that run.
This week I got Simon Hanselmann's new (old) zine which is great classic MMO, as well as issue 4 of YWONAYWBH which i'm not over the moon about, but will continue to support.
God the second Absolute Swamp Thing volume this week for $60; sadly the slipcover was damaged (a major dent in it) but the main book was intact/unharmed.
I liked the recolor and having American Gothic in one volume at long last. Is there a reason WHY DC has not done decent sized hardcovers of the Moore Swamp Thing run yet? It's insane that both the Wein, Collins, and Millar runs are in omnibus format but freaking Moore's Swamp Thing....
With the prices of the Epic line skyrocketing ($50 for a "small" volume and $55 for a larger one), I'm going to be a bit more picky in my books. Will probably try and get the early 2010 Valentino/Gallagher GOTG trades for starters, along with starting to hunt down the Marvel Visionaires Walt Simonson/John Byrne Thor and FF trades.
>>149196505>Is there a reason WHY DC has not done decent sized hardcovers of the Moore Swamp Thing run yet?The old hardcovers were decent.
>>149196505For the longest time DC have had no coherent collected edition strategy unlike the Marvel lines (which aren't perfect but still).
Man of Steel John Bryne run was going to be an omni before they changed it to four hardcovers. Omnis for various things like Starman were changed for compendiums. They literally throw a dart at a dart board to randomly decide what they are going for next.
I was in a Star Wars mood and saw Marvel has printed a lot of old dark horse stuff in omnibus format, what is decent?
>>149196899Thrawn Trilogy, Dark Empire, and Crimson Empire trilogy.
Sadly, only Thrawn trilogy has been reprinted as a stand-alone trade outside the Epic line. Dark Empire and Crimson Empire trilogy Epic Collections cost a pretty penny sadly with no reprintings in sight.
>>149196613They were basically repackaged versions of the original trades from the early 00s. And while they included #20 and the uncensored ending of #42 (which was censored in the early 00s The Curse trade), it's reprinting of #24 is missing the last page's text and have zero extras.
>>149196920>Sadly, only Thrawn trilogy has been reprinted as a stand-alone trade outside the Epic lineDark Empire, Thrawn Stuff is all collected in Star Wars Legends: The New Republic Omnibus Vol. 2
COLLECTING: Star Wars: The Jabba Tape (1998), Star Wars: Heir to the Empire (1995) #1 - 6, Star Wars: Dark Force Rising (1997) #1 - 6, Star Wars: The Last Command (1997) #1 - 6, Star Wars: Dark Empire (1991) #1 - 6, Star Wars: Dark Empire II (1994) #1 - 6, Star Wars: Empire's End (1995) #1 - 2, Star Wars: Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction (1997), Star Wars: Boba Fett: Bounty on Bar-Kooda (1995), Star Wars: Boba Fett: When the Fat Lady Swings (1996), Star Wars: Boba Fett: Murder Most Foul (1997), Star Wars: Boba Fett: Agent of Doom (2000), Star Wars Handbook (1998) 3; material from Star Wars Tales (1999) 1, 3-5, 10, 14, 20, 22
>>149196939And some people dislike the Absolute recolouring, so basically there is nothing to please anyone.
>>149196939>is missing the last page's textGod all these printing mistakes, missing stuff and everything else boils my blood
>>149196638I'm really glad DC is getting its trade act together but I do wonder how they managed to finally wise up.
>>149196184 (OP)Should I buy Captain America by Gruenwald or Justice League International vol 3?
>>149198516Fudgeโฆ. Guess Iโll stick with Cap since itโs harder and harder to find a deal which means itโs probably close to OOP, I do have 2 volumes of JLI so thereโs that
>>149196246Post her small boobs.
>>149198757Cap is good. Vol 2 is out later this year some point. I have most of it already in epic format though.
So is anyone else already or getting close to just being kind of DONE with collecting? At least in regards to trades. I'm not only running out of shelf space but things are just kind of getting too expensive. I have a lot already. And at least most of what I already really care about. At least as far as Marvel's concerned. DC is only now upping their game so I'll see how that goes but generally I think it's time to hang up.
>>149200213Iโm just about done with Marvel as well, but my interests are broad and thereโs do much good stuff out there beyond the big two.
>>149196246Why do 90% of the comic/artbook shelves I see on the internet seem to have identical contents?
>>149201869Because people buy what is available + Big two comics outsell other types of comics = 4
>>149200213I'm 60-70% there, I think.
>waiting for Claremont FF Omnis to be done with FF>apart from UltFF V2 and maybe 2-3 Omnis collecting mini-series, the original Ultimate is near done>not collecting Spider-Man beyond a few one-offs so done>not collecting GL beyond Johns so done, just waiting for an Emerald Twilight Omni for context>not collecting Superman beyond the one-off Absolutes so done>not collecting Batman beyond one-offs, so I only buy the odd Absolute>done with DC's Morrison stuff>have Lucifer and the Sandman Absolutes, plus some one-offs like Ex Machina and The Invisibles, so now only waiting for them to finish the Hellblazer Omnis to be done with Vertigo>waiting to PO the 3rd Promethea and the other two LoEG Absolutes, then more or less done with Absolutes>waiting for them finish the MotMA Dr. Strange run they've started to be done with him>waiting for them to finish the 90s Surfer series they've started to be done with him>based on calculations there's 4-5 Star Wars books left for them to publish for me to have the entire Dark Horse Era>waiting for those damn Road To/Realm Of Kings Omnis to be reprinted, plus the Infinity Trilogy, to be done with Marvel CosmicAnd then there's few one-offs that I can't think of now. I'm grabbing all Namor and Iron Man stuff for example, I'm collecting 90s Midnight Sons and the such, so there's a bit more. But the really big one is X-Men that I've stopped trying to properly map out and made my peace that I'll eventually double-dip at some points. I'm not really enjoying it as much as at first, but I'm in too deep to stop now. Thankfully I didn't overextend myself during the beginning trying to grab everything, so it's all under control, more or less. I didn't buy things I never liked "just to have it" is what I mean.
>>149202232>>waiting for Claremont FF Omnis to be done with FFI just need volume 1 of that era to get a reprint somehow and I'm set for F4 and then a reprint of Amazing Spider-man 2 to fill that gap. I'm gonna get Savage Sword of Conan 10 when it comes out but then I think I'll stop there as a nice round number along side my Barbarian set. I like the book but there's gonna be like 20 of these things for Savage Sword alone when they're all said and done and that's just a lot. There's a few gaps in various series I need filled but honestly I think I can just live with them. I do want to collect Superman though. At least a few years worth of the Triangle era anyways. And after that I think I'll focus more on smaller stuff as it catches my eye.
>>149200213I've definitely got to clear some stuff out
i got a bunch of paper backs that contain the inferno and apocalypse story line so I'm done pretty much, might get one more spiderman epic to fill in 205-220, but like everything else would be read online
want to collect transformers compendium 2
would collect The Nam omni if i had the room
still waiting for the Batman Neal adams omni to get reprinted
With SMT compendium two coming out I'm basically down. I hope they reprint the whole Vertigo Hellblazer run in omnibus form. That and maybe Moore Swamp thing if it gets re-collected thats about it.
>>149200213
>>149204044Not pictured because I'm reading them;
STAS compendium, Hellblazer by Delano 1 and Batman Hush
>>149204048Oh and I'm definitely buying Absolute Wondy and Absolute J'onn
>>149202232Real question is, are you willing to pay money for the Azz and Milligan runs? I'd probably cave with the Azz run because Freezes over is actually good, but Milligan has 0 redeeming qualities and I might just stop at issue 250
>>149196505>>149196613So which is they better one to buy?
>>149202571I never got into Conan because I knew that once I started I'd never be able to stop with the old Marvel stuff. I do wish I'd bought the Busiek one though, that would've been the perfect one-off.
>>149204066Honestly, I'd buy them 99%. I'd hate to leave one or two volumes as a gap. With X-Books I can skip the tertiary stuff I don't care for, or pick the one or two Avengers I like, but with something like Hellblazer that is pretty contained, I'm in for the whole thing.
>>149204196Even Milligan? Shieeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>>149204262I'm a sick man. Not as sick as the average redditard who buys 35 Post-2015 books in a week while having read none, but sick nonetheless.
>>149196246Post nipples. Also the rest of the set.
>>149202193US market pretty fucked. It is known.
>>149204345Youโre not very good at this.
>>149200213I've never seen it as collecting as buying things I enjoy. I do pick up some things I think just look cool and/or weird but that's mostly stuff I find at 2nd and Charles.
>>149200213I have never collected.
>>149200213I mostly collect single issues. Trades are nice but I don't like how they usually to put the covers on them or they eventually fuck with the coloring and do new digital slop on em.
>>149204196>I do wish I'd bought the Busiek one though, that would've been the perfect one-off.Yeah I regret not getting those epics when they were coming out.
>>149196246she's cute as hell. would snog and make her a sandwich
Has anyone ever, EVER, even gotten an e-mail back, let alone ever successfully bought something, from one of these sites that have "ask a bookseller!!!" as the way to see if you can actually get the book.
I see these types of sites constantly, all with the same format of "Ask a bookseller!"
>>149204034I really want the TF compendium but at the same time, would much rather have smaller trades. Which ones are better, the Titan G1 trades or the IDW G1 trades?
>>149204103Several of the HCs are OOP and go for about double/triple the cover price. But the softcovers are still in print and there is even a box set of the softcovers for a decent price.
The Absolute volumes however have a bunch of extras exclusive to their volumes. Also, they are better organized as far as each Absolute collecting two trades worth of content, meaning you can get the American Gothic and Swamp Thing in Space storyline in full instead of arbitrarily split into two volumes.
Now; the Absolutes ARE recolored but they do a good job on them IMHO.
>>149204103One thing to note is that due to the backlash towards the recolors, you can get the Absolutes pretty cheap on the secondary market IE Ebay. In particular, I got both V1 and 2 for about $50 a piece and V3 for about $70.
>>149204196Kind of disagree. I only bought two Conan books from the Marvel reissue campaign: the first two Epics that collect the Barry Windsor Smith run. That run is pretty much the greatest hits for Conan and the BWS Conan is kind of lean and fit compared to the massive Buscema Conan, who basically was Hulk in flesh colors and with long hair.
>>149208229titan are written by simon furman
there's this too
the compendium i got is from the 80's
should watch the japanese anime beast wars one day
>>149208229Titan.
The Titan trades has Headmasters in it's proper place reading-wise (right after the Car Wash of Doom issue) and was the only place to read the G2 series. On the downside though, it's missing three fill-in issues (the two part colorized version of Man of Iron which was reprinted to buy Budinsky time to write Headmasters and the WTF were they thinking? adaptation of the Big Broadcast of 2006 episode of the TF cartoon), Transformers Universe, all of the Transformers back up feature bios that were published in the main book that were originally intended for a never published Transformers Universe v2 mini, or the Transformers the Movie adaptation. And the Titan UK trades are the only ones that reprint the UK stories in their proper tabloid size format, as IDW and Image are set to condense them to US trade paperback size.
IDW has multiple TPBs, several of which omit #3 and all of the Circuit Breaker appearances save for the ones in #68-80 (which was when IDW broke down and paid Marvel a kings ransom to get the rights to use her).
Adding to this, they also omit the Transformers Universe mini (but not the back up feature bios) while sticking Headmasters and Transformers the Movie at the very end of the final trade.

do you guys still enjoy owning comics
all that i have left is a ton of old spawn comics and i'm thinking of just straight throwing it all in the trash
haven't looked at it in a million years, and the comics industry is horrible to be reminded of
>>149210093Yes, I read comics, got into manga for 15 years, now I'm back into comics and reading all the 70s and 80s comics in TPB
>>149210197sounds like my arc but without the back into comics bit
i used to go back to the old cool runs but inevitably i'd get annoyed that comics aren't cool anymore so it was this weird exercise in frustration
>>149210093I have too many old comics I've never read to run out of stuff to read. Comics not being my only hobby also helps.
>>149210296Well as a kid, I read the cool comics that were coming out in the 90s and 00s, I stopped at Civil War, but I would learn about the context of old comics from like Wizard magazine
Now as an adult, and things like Epic Collections MOSTLY being easy to get, I would still love to read Ghost Rider and Spider-man from the start one of these days but volume 1 still isn't reprinted, anyway now I'm reading the stories Wizard magazine always spoke in high regaurd from the 60s/70s/80s about and am finding them very enjoyable.
Except for I'm slogging through this like crazy, Daredevil is such a fucking whiner! He stalks his ex to LA, and for some reason his catchphrase seems to be "soooo..." which is absurd
>>149210093> do you guys still enjoy owning comicsIn /shelf/
Fuck off with this sad sack shit.
Man the Tomb Raider omni is THICK. I didn't realize it ran for that many issues.
>>149210093>and the comics industry is horrible to be reminded ofDemoralisation is as easy as it is boring. It is easy to shit on everything until eventually you can't enjoy anything. I get it, that culture wars and YouTubers just want you to be mad all the time. But part of a hobby is seeking out things to enjoy and enjoying them. The discovery is fun. Actually go and find something fun to read.
>>149210638>Actually go and find something fun to read.I did, I found manga and have novels
was kinda hoping someone in here would rekindle the a spark for comics with their enthusiasm
>>149210452like this guy, I like that he's having a good time
>>149210093>and the comics industry is horrible to be reminded ofYou know there's a lot of OLD comics that aren't shit. Probably quite a few series you missed out on, which given your admittance of being a spawn reader I'm sure there's a lot of. I don't care for the current state of things much either so I've been using this time to read stuff I never touched. Was a marvel purist growing up so going back and seeing what DC had to offer makes me feel like I missed out.
>>149210669>was kinda hoping someone in here would rekindle the a spark for comics with their enthusiasmI mean this sincerly, if you want to hear people be enthusiastic, give them a chance to be. Don't post demoralisation stuff.
I love comics still. Maybe take a gamble on something and give it a fair shot? Heck, I just picked up the new Heavy Metal to try (they are rebooting it). And if it is terrible at least I have the few old classic issues I recently bought to read instead.
>>149210727They rebooted Heavy Metal?
>>149210911>They rebooted Heavy Metal?Yes. I'm not normally a variant guy but some of the covers were fun homages.
>>149210921They have reboorted both Heavy Metal and Metal Hurlant.
>>149210965>>149210921The new Metal Hurlant is being published by Humanoids with some Moebius reprints as well as a big softcover anthology.
https://store.humanoids.com/products/655160791758
Heavy Metal is being published by Heavy Metal International:
https://www.heavymetal.com/post/the-triumphant-return-of-heavy-metal-magazine
>>149210669I'm having fun with everything I pick up, Luke Cage, Fantastic Four, especially 70s Hulk, Moon Knight, New Mutants, all things I have never read before and I'm just loving them. Even 60s Thor with all the THOU and THINE.
But Daredevil is such a faggot. Why is SOOOOO his catchphrase he says it EVERY issue.
Your housing is burning and you only have time to save one book, which is it

>>149211068Kirby Thor is great.
Check out og Master of Kung Fu and Werewolf by Night. I love 70โs Marvel.
The most recent things I have acquired are the first two Blake and Mortimer collections.
As you can see in the pic, Cinebook has made these books impossible to shelve in a proper way. Instead they have created an unsolvable problem.
Truly historyโs greatest monsters
>>149213238Why is the Epics for Master so rape priced
How often does a comic not being scanned compel you to buy online?
>>149213420Forgot to mention
>And there's only one listing
>>149213359In order to print MoKF, Marvel had to make a deal with the estate of Sax Rhomer, the creator of Fu Manchu, Shang Chiโs father and some of MoKFโs supporting cast. They had the rights back for a couple of years and managed to get out four omnis with the whole series and some epics that got the start of it.
All of it is oop now.
However you can find the omnis at or less than cover. The first one is the most expensive, the others were all way less than retail on ebay.
NOTE: The omnis arenโt the usual monsters, theyโre all around 600-700 paged long and I found them a pleasure to read.
>>149213449Maybe they'll re work a deal as soon as they decide to make another movie with this character, I say, knowing they're doing some gay DOOM centric Epic instead of reprinting Fantastic Four ones
>>149200213Iโm still waiting for reprints on marvels end, I need the Uncanny X Men omnis (volume 3 went OOP I was too late FUUUUUUUCCCK) and maybe Peter Davidโs hulk reprints but thatโs about all I want really, Iโm not entirely sure how x men crazy I wanna get but if I can at least get 1-5 Iโll be pretty damn happy
>>149214283>Iโm not entirely sure how x men crazy I wanna get but if I can at least get 1-5 Iโll be pretty damn happyI got a complete run of that, the Fall and Massacre ones and the two Lee/Claremonts. And I am done. I had originally hoped to take it further but when I went back and reread a lot of the later stuff I didn't really like it so much. Especially everything surrounding and following Onslaught. I had that Omni as well as the Twelve and sold them both for some decent change.
I've been trying to sell some omnis I no longer want. I arranged to meet up in a supermarket car park via Facebook marketplace and the guy tried to just take the book and leave but was fat and didn't get far and didn't expect actual resistance either, he screamed in my face and cried.
>>149215080>While my friend was distracting anon in the car park I was placing an airtag on his car and now I know where he lives and where his shelves are

>>149196184 (OP)I got some stuff
>>149215821>DeMatteis Fate>Zot!>Rohan Yeah im thinking based

>>149217650>Tezuka's Beethoven mangaHe died before he could finish it.
It's a accurate but cartoony account of Beethovens life with what he was able to cover
>>149215821You know the McFarlane TPB is a really good steal, I think it comes with all the issues the Omni has and you donโt have to pay $100+ bucks for it. Iโm ngl I know compendiums are weaker but Iโd probably just get nothing but paperbacks if it was an option
>>149210579A lot of issues, yeah. Great art, decent stories.
>>149217650>new Taio Matsumoto seriesTokyo These Days might be my favorite of his. It excels at that kind of oddball quiantness and little character studies I like in his work.
>>149218711It's great. Tied with Schrauwen's Sunday for favorite comic of this decade.
I'm probably going to quit comics and this site for a little while.
>>149213303I respect you buying that, but holy shit is B&M a hard fucking read
>>149215080I've had decent luck just hocking shit on ebay. They take too much of a piece for my liking but I still made a good chunk over what my LCS wanted to give me.
Am I an elitist for never buying 2nd hand omnis? And that I buy from a comic site thats more expensive than my country's version of Amazon?
>>149220171Every time I have bought a second hand expensive book it has smelled bad. Sometimes smokers smell, sometimes something else.

The more expensive site's customer service is way better too, got a free 2nd copy of Morrison's LSD Wonder Woman E1 epic because the quality of the pages were shit and gave me 20% of my Hellblazer omni's I pre-ordered after I pointed out they went in sale after I ordered it
>>149220222wordswordswordswordswords
>>149209503what happened to that broken book?
Picked up Legion of Supper Heroes before the Great Darkness Saga vol 2. Vol 1 is tragically kind of a bitch to get a hold of. I really ought to consider digital as a more viable option but I just can't bring myself to like it.
Only recently got into superhero comics and kinda want to start collecting them but there's just too much stuff out there, and it's probably expensive as fuck.
>>149221014I wouldn't start with Omnibuses in any case. Look into Marvel Epics, DC Finest or Compacts and stuff like that.
>>149221061What's wrong with omnibuses? Other than price?
>>149221307The price is pretty much what I meant. It's just a big investment for people who don't know if they're into something fully. If one catches your eye by all means get it, they are a good way to get a lot of comics fast, but I just see a lot of people asking stuff like "I've never read a comic in my life which dozen omnis should I get." Beyond that it's just a matter of preference. I find the smaller formats generally more comfortable to read but I've never had trouble with a larger one
>>149221014Well if you want recs of where to start that doesn't cost too much
>I want to try old stuffThe first Fantastic Four Epic is a good start and recently reprinted
>I want to try really old stuffThe DC Finest Plastic Man is like $20 for 600 pages and its uncensored
>I want something a bit more modern but still not digitally colored when it was released Pick up a 70s Hulk collection those are mostly cheap, or a X Men 80s Epic with Wolverine on it
>I like modern stuff but before they started talking like internet people Uhhhh the... the Batgirl DC Finest? That's like 24 bucks
>>149221014DC's compendium line has also been really nice. You get an omnis worth of content for half the price. They're paper back and I do worry a little about the spines on the bigger ones but if you're not an ape with your books I imagine it will be fine. JSA was quite good. And they got other more modern (read 80s/90s) stuff too
>>149221014Don't. You'll regret it.
>>149221307I haven't read much of my Dazzler omni just because it's a pain to hold
>>149223339Never. Most of these are retard behavior and I'm no retard. I'm just a regular moron.
>>149223339I read X Static as it was coming out so why is the Omni here, just that it's good? Was it super cheap so everyone got it? Rom Omni 1 was like $30 for ages.
Do people still think it's good? I remember liking it.
Damn Jim Shooter died

>>149223571Fuck. ;_;

>>149220189I'm tired and it's a lot of baloney.
>>149215821Is your copy of Existential Comics signed by Crumb?
>>149221427A few compendiums actually correct the issue mapping as well. I've chosen the JSA compendiums over the omnibus purely because they're actually mapped properly. The omnibus are basically incomprehensible unless you do research ahead of time.

>>149223475IIRC, the X-Statix Omnibus was first printed way back in 2010 or something, when there was hardly a big market for omnibuses. So it languished for years in stores before finally going out of print after the better part of a decade.

>Amazing Spider-Man by Zeb Wells Vol 1
I cannot imagine who the fuck would be buying these.
>>149228846They haven't printed the post-clone saga material, an era that has a decent amount of fun material, but they're shitting out a fucking Zeb Wells omnibus? They haven't finished collecting the Michelinie run, but they can shit out a fucking Zeb Wells omnibus. They haven't even begun to properly collected Lord Nepotism Dan Slott's run, but they can put out a fucking Zeb Wells omnibus.
I genuinely cannot imagine what they're thinking. I genuinely cannot conceive of anything that would be worse to collect. At least the clone saga started off strong (Ben facing Venom was great), at least it had an interesting air to its shittiness. There's no angle for Wells. It's just fucking bad.
>>149228915The Clone Saga nowadays at least as value as an historical artifact, or for the sake of 90s nostalgia. You can see why people might want to check it out. The experience of reading it across 2 to 4 omnibus volumes is probably better than following the whole sorry saga as it was coming out month by month, anyway.
Who on earth would be interested in Zeb Wells's ASM? It only ended last October. Whatever potential target audience there is here will have it fully fresh in their minds already (or at least, as fresh as something this rotten can be). The Dark Web Omnibus at least had the X-Men half of it, and modern X-fags will buy literally anything. Who'll buy this?
>>149228963Oh wait, I guess this is the market for the Zeb Wells omnibus.
I'll contribute my stuff

>>149229131I wish I had that Tin Tin collection
I've never read it before so it'd be a blind buy but I'm curious
>>149229978It's a good collection, however I should warn you they're all shrunken down versions of the original 11ร12 comics, so some of the dialogue can get hard to read. Otherwise its great, its the entire series for like $80 iirc
Did you hear about this already? Lone Wolf and Cub is getting Deluxe Editions

>>149219978Yeah, I can't disagree. I don't think I'll be going any further with it.
>>149232201Yeah I have two oldies at my mom's still, but I tried reading it from issue one and Christ that word count is retarded.
>>149220250Doesn't that only matter if the writing sucks or is it that overwhelming
How's legion of super heroes? I was thinking of picking up that dc finest book out of respect for big jim.
>>149233856I'm blind buying it
$21 is really no big loss at all nowadays
>>149221337Omnis are a gigantic pain in the ass and the prices are equally terrible unless it's a one and done book. The compendiums are great and DC Finest are quickly becoming my favorite type of books. You can't beat that much story for that price.

I can't stop buying floppies on Whatnot, they're so goddamn cheap that it's addicting. I've gotten many semi-expensive books for dirt cheap.
>>149235254I have to download an app to use it...
Could I get Epics for decent prices?
I ordered the Superman Adventures compendium. I was waffling on the fence a bit but the price aint bad and I wanted it. I'd probably have paced if it were an omnibus price.
>>149234512>DC Finest are quickly becoming my favorite type of books.God I hope it makes Epics go down in price
>>149237523Epics only just went UP in price. I already have most of the ones I want but fuck me does it still bite.
>>149235254Floppies are garbage. Remember that and you should be good.
I bought some Thriller by Trevor Von Eeden.

Between this and how people were using it primarily for a metaphorical dick measuring contest over most read characters, I don't get people

>>149240639Don't get me wrong, I like seeing the database queue not take DMV levels of waiting for it to clear (aside from maybe the concern that people are being reckless about approving changes) but really?
That's what it took?
This is the site that could be the best database for comics since comicbookdb's death, a site where people can discover hidden gems, encourage curiosity, etc and it's even been delivered solicitations directly from Marvel and DC since they recognize how people are using it to keep up with latest releases and yet for the longest time (and to this day even) it was just known as the app where people can just show off how many issues of "Insert character" they read
>>149229131Nice Calvin and Hobbes books. I got a couple of those as a kid. Them and Bioncle comics that came with Lego magazine were how I got into comics.

What good zombie comics are there? I kind of fancy reading something but I can't be asked with The Walking Dead. Some people talk about Crossed but people equally say it's awful.

>>149228963It's new, self-contained, and Kelly's run is a direct continuation (with Kelly literally writing the last ten issues of the last volume after Wells fucked off around issue 60) so they are probably thinking of the long game of keeping modern day Spider-Man in print with the idea that Kelly's getting an omnibus plus they are putting the Spencer run on omnibus, so they are going to also have Well's run in omnibus format too so they can have an unbroken (save for Beyond, which I'm sure will get one eventually) run of modern post-BND Spider-Man in the omnibus format.
>>149228264I wouldn't buy the Doctor Fate compendium for a thin dime. One of the most vomit inducing rapes of a major character ever written and is even worse given that it's the only time Dr Fate had a modern ongoing series.

>>149228963The thing about Clone Saga is that for as shit as it was, it also sets up MC2 which you can take as the very good happy ending point for the character. The main book really doesn't get any better and even though SG did start to flounder a bit near the end it's over another hundred issues of solid comics and you can just call it a saga.
