Was this show actually any good?
Anonymous No.149202444 [Report]
It was very average. The characterizations were weird and the stories were all over the place.

No. The entire gimmick of rugrats was a show about how babies perceive the world. All grown up is a gimmick of those baby characters grown up. So the original hook is completely gone and it's a show that's not about anything. Might be excusable if it had decent writing or jokes but it's all as bland as it gets. Only gets discussed on /co/ because gooners like it

It didn't feature Angelica as a fat kid, so no.

Like >>149202500, the original hook is gone and they haven't really replaced it with anything interesting. It tried to do teen drama, but since it was still an episodic cartoon, the status quo rarely changed and all the character moments rang hollow. I watched the entire thing and can only recall, like, 5 episodes off the top of my head. That's how forgettable it ended up being.
As Told by Ginger is what AGU should have been.

Go watch Recess instead if you want Rugrats but they're in middle school.

It was better than the final seasons of Rugrats, IMO. But that isn't saying much.

They're barely older than the main kids in Arthur.

>Say the kids are tweens (12-13)
>Write them all like they're 16-18 with the same hackneyed after-school specials and morals we've seen in every other teen dramedy
