Weekly /co/ creation thread
Or /coc/ thread if that's what you look for in the catalog.

>How does this work?

>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
>There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

>If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
>If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

If the thread dies suddenly or you still want to discuss something when there's no thread:

When I was going to make the thread I saw the old one was still up but on page 10, so I waited for it to fall off. If anyone had bumped it then I wouldn't have made a new thread.
I still look like a jackass for making a new thread right after the old one died instead of looking like a dumbass if I had made a new thread while the old one was still up.

The "Happy is Gert's Daughter" Anon No.149213575 [Report] >>149226608
Hi guys, I might not have an update on the IHF fan work today, but I wanted to talk about something I feel its relevant in the plot, and that is of course the visuals, mainly since the storyline involves Gert, Happy and many alternate versions of themselves, so here it is.
>Normal Gert (Gertie):
She looks like Gert looks in the Brett Bean run. (Kid and adult Gert), I think this fits since she is now retroactively an "adaptation" of nuGert, who is a Gert younger than the original since she is still in Fairyland by the time the story starts, and like OG Gert, she eventually escapes and when she returns to Fairyland, she has a special suit, unlike the original she keeps it relatively intact for longer, unlike OG Gert who already tore it apart by the time she returned to Fairyland.
>Happy and her Mom
They have the look from the original Skottie Young run, this includes Mom Gert having her office worker outfit, the only real difference is that she and Cloudia look closer to pic since I do prefer Adult Office Worker Gert having a more circular shape for her head compared to the more triangular shape she has in Skottie's run
>OG Future Gert
Has a look inspired in Game Day since Dax Gordine did a piece of IHF fanart featuring her before getting hired for Untold Tales.
>GRRT!
Look from "Fairyland Before Time"
>Queen Gert and Her Happy
Has a look closer to "Fluff the World"s art style since I think it fits her personality.
>Gert Group Future Gert and her Happy
Has her "Fairy Road" look.
>SF Gert and her Happy
Has her look from when Gert was in the Tower of Battle in issue #12. Her look outside of the Tower of Battle is from Arcade Love Song
>Good Girl "Gert" Grace and Hortense
Look from "Judge Gerty" and the currently ongoing Derek Laufman run

I don't think it has an official name, so I just made one up that would be instantly recognizable as belonging to the red-skinned, white-haired, black-sclera'd, pointy-eared space humanoids that the Blangs are. A Bloom sample to come in by ship just feels right to me.

I was reviewing Crackdown's powers and his entropy trick to make things more brittle caught my eye. Does that last after he's done touching it or do things turn back to normal quickly?
Since Jack can make things more dense it might be a good counter to that power.
If it lasts then after Jack reverts his hammer to normal density it would disintegrate.

I see. So Jack's hammer not crumbling could be another blow to Arthur since Jack is able to no-sell (temporarily) some of Arthur's powers. Up until that point no one had ever had any counter to them.
CD fights with improvised weapons like a wrench sometimes. Might be cool if he tries to disintegrate Jack's hammer, but Jack makes it super dense while making the wrench super not-dense making it look like Arthur's powers got flipped on him.
Might be a cool dramatic moment right before taking the hammer to the chest.

Interesting. Jack started as a MHA OC and the more I consider Crackdown's powers the more it feels like a mix of shiggydiggy's and the guy who can phase through stuff.

Well, goodnight.

Arthur is usially very reserved with using that aspect of his power since it would allow him to cause extreme bodily harm and even kill effortlessly. When fighting normal-durability opponents, he actually uses in a way you're describing it: to disarm (like snapping baseball bats in half like they're twigs)
Considering he never goes full force, it might make him give pause in this particular instance while not countering him completely, since his power would start chipping away even at Jack-powered object after enough exposure.

Honestly, this whole ordeal feels like a learning experience for Arthur regarding appearances in general since he probably wouldn't take someone like Jack all to seriously at first.

With Jack's powers, I've taken to a visual cue of vertical lines for show something has been made denser and circular waves to show something has been made less dense.

Hmm, I actually never thought about that.
Maybe it could take the form of those manga-esque aura (God, this word got so thoroughly ruined lately that I didn't even want to use it) moments like pic related: shadowy tendrils creeping all over around him.
It probably wouldn't be used every time he uses his powers and instead coincide with moments of him being especially menacing/bloodlusted.

Pondering on this some more.
How much control does he have over what gets destroyed? If a Bloom jellyfish got on someone and was just starting to fuse with them, would he be able to destroy just the Bloom and not the flesh it is attempting to merge with?
It might leave behind some large injuries from where the tendrils dug into the flesh, but it would spare the victim the worst of it.

It might make for a cool scene to show to the readers what the little jellyfish are without exposition and also introduce this power AND give Brad the opportunity to bail while Crackdown is busy trying to remove one from one of Frank's gang.

Crackdown has a certain degree of it, but he would've had to develop it first. In the script I had in mind for his first meeting with Free Hand Jin (ex-criminal martial artist), he shows off his progress to the reader by destroying a brick via a brittle-inducing grip, but leaving a small geometric shape made out of it like a cube or a sphere intact.
If this is happening just when he first meets Jack, then I guess he would not have achieved that yet, so he should use his brain instead.

If I may suggest something for the Hill-Billie story,I was thinking Billie’s father could be one of the missing people you mentioned in the original pitch. His disappearance becomes her personal reason to dive into the supernatural with Grace.
It’s not just curiosity; it’s heartbreak and determination. I picture a scene where Grace, skeptical and grounded, casually suggests that maybe Billie’s father just left.
Billie goes quiet, then snaps. Tears well up in her eyes as she fires back, her voice trembling: "My Pa didn’t walk out on us, Grace. I know it. He didn’t leave. Something took him."
That moment could really reveal Billie’s emotional depth, her loyalty, and the painful hope that drives her. It’s not about chasing ghosts—it’s about chasing truth, and maybe healing, too.

The "Happy is Gert's Daughter" Anon No.149272378 [Report] >>149272463
Happy is a major character in the I Hate Fairyland series, being the secondary antagonist of Volume 1 and the titular main antagonist of Volume 8 -Happy End Game-. In the fanwork storyline, she is the deuteragonist, and alternate versions of herselfare the antagonists of its adaptation of Happy End Game.
What IHF characters do celebrate Independence day?
The only characters I would think of are Gert, Happy and Duncan (this assumes they are American, which is 90% likely), and even then, normal Gert probably does not know during her time on Fairyland, adult Gert probably celebrates it, if only a bit reluctantly, same for Normal Happy celebrating it and Happy End Game Happy not. Duncan is the only one that probably still celebrates holidays if he remembers what day it is in the real world.
In all seriousness, have a Happy 4th of July.
