Miles' arc on the other hand is incredibly feminine-coded - similar to Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel, the gist of Miles' arc is that he's great, possibly the greatest, and he's being held back by everyone else who don't believe in him or try to keep him down. The vast majority of fans who ship Miles with Gwen are guys, black or brown guys who self-insert specifically. When girl fans ship Gwen, they ship her with Miguel, because Miguel fits their ideal man better than Miles does. He's tall, strong, traditionally handsome, and just exotic enough to deflect accusations of racism.
