What does /co/ think of the comic books based on Nickelodeon shows (both currently running comics and past comics)? I know SpongeBob, Invader ZIM, Avatar, Ren and Stimpy, Rugrats, and Rocko have all gotten their own dedicated comic books before, plus there was that Danny Phantom graphic novel that was released a few years ago

Pretty damn good
The talent they'd usually get the magazine comics were either show staff or people from all over the comics industry,
Industry veterans like Ramona Fradon tackling Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy comics to people within the independent scene like Tony Millionaire, Jacob Chabot, Scott Roberts, etc
The SpongeBob comics in particular were a passion project by Hillenburg by all accounts and it's a travesty there's no effort to get them all scanned

Part of me wonders if SpongeBob will ever get new comic books again. I feel like the reason these SpongeBob comics stopped was because of Hillenburg passing away, but I have to imagine Nick will want SpongeBob to have comics again someday with how much of a cashcow SpongeBob is

I was thinking about a new Jimmy Neutron comic earlier because I'd like to see them continue the story but I'm terrified about what could go wrong if they made a new show
Granted it presumably being 2D would lose a lot of the charm JN had, and they probably would do the things I don't want them to do anyways. Maybe I just want Jimmy Neutron back, but not in this current environment.
Was always super interested in the Spongebob Comics but never knew where to find them so I never read them.

It's sad that just reading this makes me immediately think of how Squid would react in an episode otherwise, just saying "oh give me a break" and leaving while Spongebob is completely unaware he's upset. It's nice when Squid is just a nice guy who is easily irritable.

There was info that came out about an upcoming movie but everyone forgot already. It was like a job listing or something fairly believable like that.
