Is Angel the only character from a spin-off to a Disney movie that Disney cares about? Stuff from the direct to video sequels and TV show spin-offs is usually ignored once it's over, yet Angel keeps getting tons of merch and I'm pretty confident she'll appear in the live-action sequel.
Heck, some shows like Aladdin and Buzz Lightyear aren't even on Disney+, that's how little Disney cares about stuff not from the movies.

In the case of Buzz Lightyear, Pixar actively hates the show because it was done without their involvement, so they refuse to ever acknowledge it and its characters, instead doing their own thing for the Lightyear movie.

On a related note, is the "female counterpart" cartoon character archetype dead? Most female characters these days seem to be conceived and designed as their own character as opposed to taking a the character design of a male main character and making it feminine.

She was generic trash to begin with designed to sell merch to little girls and with very little screentime. I'm not even sure what her actual personality is supposed to be. Femme fatale girlboss? A whore? Yandere for Stitch? Apparently her personality differs between the disney show and the anime, and she's irrelevant in both.
