Though I will admit Up and Toy Story 3 are where some of the cracks began showing. Up's opening was amazing, but it’s what caused Pixar to become known for tugging on people's heartstrings, this lead to most emotional moments from the Pixar films that came after to feel forced or cliche, there were some moments that landed like the ending of Toy Story 3 and that scene from Coco but that’s pretty much it. Toy Story 3 is also where Pixar learned how profitable sequels are, the film that released after was Cars 2, which showed a jarring drop in quality.
I should also mention that Pixar films these days feel too geared towards kids, they have child protagonists, sappy messages for kids, and not to mention how oversanitized they are, ffs The Incredibles had story beats involving stuff like mass murder and attempted suicide, modern Pixar's films are too childish. All of Golden Age Pixar’s output felt like films made for everyone rather than just kids, it’s why they were a huge cultural phenomenon throughout the 2000's.
