Previously, Akihiro joined up with Project Hellfire to help them assemble the Hell Hulk and figure out its origins. But it turns out that Severith (in possibly one of the least surprising betrayals in Marvel history) is actually the Hell Hulk's creator and was manipulating the team so that he can awaken it. Akihiro is the only one who can stop him...or rather was since Severith paralyzed him to the point of being unable to breathe, and then created a tomb around him...

I feel like we should've been done with mutant prejudice as a major element considering how long the setting has gone, how stale as a story best it has gotten and how in real life despite some hurdles that acceptance towards the groups they "parallel" is significantly improved. Still, the Avengers headquartered in NYC could maybe have done something. I mean Captain America & Co are back to living in the Manhattan mansion. That's like a 2-hour drive from the prison over in Westchester if the traffic is bad. A lot less if you use a quinjet. And Monet is in the prison, she was on the Uncanny Avengers not even two years ago. The Graymalkin thing is extra dumb because they did basically the exact same plotline as recently as 2019 right before HoX/PoX. O*N*E imprisoning mutants in the upstate New York area for arbitrary reasons and torturing them into turning on their friends. But at least then it was cut short after a couple issues when Logan and Scott kicked the door in. It wasn't dragged out over a year and a half.

it's not the same as regular soap opera shit. how many big social gatherings have there been in just the last 5 years for x-men vs the rest of x-men comics, and bad has the writing gotten? pretty sure there's either a direct correlation or x-writers don't actually have any good ideas, let alone good ideas they know how to execute tastefully. these social interactions are for niche characters few people care about, and they're way more emotional than philosophical

Dust was in champions, Goldballs was Miles roommate, Bombshell is a mutant. Langzig and kelly can't even write five fucking pages without getting shit wrong. kamala's mutant push hasn't been great but they actively make it worse every time their pen hits paper.

X-Men had more gay fans that probably any other Marvel book since as far back as the 80s. In the 90s they started adding allegories for gays into the mutant metaphor, and by the 2000s Marvel were doubling down on the metaphor over everything else a lot, and the movies were blatant, so things have been building for decades, but Krakoa and the galas were the tipping point where the gays actually became the target audience, and Hickman opened the door to the polyamory crowd and it was like they'd been there all along waiting for their moment.

Seriously, we have so much mutants here that they can't do anything about this? Can't like Lorna or Erik remove their weapons and launch an EMP to remove the collars and prevent the soldiers from having contact or teleporting away? Or what, is the plan just to let them keep capturing mutants until they catch a high priority one and then they'll actually try to shut them down? You know I think its telling how shit Exceptional is that, before this book, isn't their only "crossover" issue that one with Xavier on the run? And it wasn't even them really being involved, rather the event was just an excuse for the X-men to not be watching out the kids.
