Why those Hank have a problem with charcoal?
Is it just because he's so proud of his job as a propane salesman?
>>149241524 (OP)Yes, partly because he’s made pripane his identity but I think he also genuinely believed grilled food shouldn’t taste so smokey either
>>149241574I thought he is a conservative. Charcoal is more traditional.
>>149241589Hank’s father figure issues beat out his traditional views as he will look the other way for indiscretions not pertaining to a. Traditional values, I.e Buck’s cheating when tradition is monogamy
No particular reason in of itself, just supposed to exemplify him having rigid convictions even if there's no logical reason behind them besides
>It's worked fine for me up till this point.
There's nothing particularly radical or non- traditional about charcoal grilling. I'm fact if you had ever been to a public place with those hard mounted outdoor grills installed, charcoal was your only real option if you want to use them.
>>149241524 (OP)He genuinely believes in it being the inferior product.
Hank associates propane with a time when Buck Strickland came off as a genuinely honest, hard-working man. Giving up propane means finally acknowledging that was all a lie, and he can never do that because he needs to have one father figure in his life who wasn't awful even if he has to delude himself into thinking that way.
>>149241524 (OP)Because he idolizes the man who gave him his first real job. But it wouldn't surprise me if Buck himself used charcoal.
>>149241738Isn't there an episode where it's revealed Buck uses an electric oven? I feel like I remember a scene like that or something.
>>149241785Yes, and it made Hank nearly lose faith in propane in Snow Job.
