Why do Western comics and cartoons always revolve around fist fights and chases? An intellectual chess match (like Holmes vs Moriarty, Light vs L) would be much more interesting. Wester animation needs to evolve to higher levels of storytelling. It needs to stop doing the easy thing.

A clever opponent is written to predict your next move whether he’s dodging a tricky blow by doing something unexpected or he moved a piece 3 turns ago in anticipation of your strategy.
