Nah, I think it'd be the right level. Some character going, "ER, UH... OUR LIGHTING SYSTEM JUST WORKS BETTER FOR THIS OTHER PERSON! THE COSTUME WE'RE GONNA USE LOOKS BETTER ON HER!".

Too subtle would be if Dijonay auditioned for something like a hero in a play, and got offered the villain instead. A role she has no interest in. When she asks why, the director just insists she fits the part better. They would never do that because it would call too much attention to the fact that Proud Family themselves engage in colorism because the darkest characters are also the loudest and most annoying compared to characters like Penny and Trudy.

I couldn't finish the second season. I actually liked the original show, and even though it also had moral lessons, the new moral lessons just feel wrongheaded. The reparations episode and the episode where Zoey's "friends" shun her for dating a black guy were just too much too close together for me to want to continue.
