I don't mind mean chicks, a lot of the antagonist ladies were hot asf during the Archie run. However, Ian and Evan being half-assed about Lanolin and not knowing what to do with her is annoying. They seem to want to try to make her bad but they don't commit to it.

The writers handled her terribly. It would have been great to have a character in Sonics group of do-gooders that wanted to handle things differently, that butted heads with Sonic, not through power but through a system that Sonic doesn't gel with. Sonic is a hero of justice but he shouldn't do well in constrained areas build on justice, that's why he always needs to be on the move for the next thing while characters like Lanoline should stay where they are but grow influence for the next time they meet up. God I want Sonic to go around exploring new places again and certain characters can take a break only to be brough back later in interesting ways.

The entire character is forced and unnatural as soon as she got removed from the background. She was immediately shoved into a leadership role before the readers even got to know her. It doesn’t even make sense in-universe she was a complete rookie. She literally tried to resign multiple times because she is completely unqualified to be a leader only for the rest of the crying lesbian squad to shower her with toxic positivity and empty platitudes about how failing at leading the group is actually a good thing because you learn!

I hope she becomes even worse when we return to her, but Evan the dyke will never allow a woman to be portrayed too negatively
