>>149255413Eh, every account in the Bible is pretty clear it was the Sanhedrin that wanted Jesus dead, not the Romans. They take him to Pilate, but Pilate doesn't find Jesus guilty of anything and offers to free him, but the crowds outside want him dead so he gives them what they want to avoid a riot. Pilate "washing his hands" is symbolic of Jesus' blood being on the hands of the people who called for his death, not him.
Not that this makes all Jews today responsible for Jesus' death any more than anyone alive today is responsible for shit their ancestors did thousands of years ago, but that's how the story goes.
