Why do all fat middle aged men feel compelled to wear polo shirts? They look awful and feel uncomfortable. They make short sleeve button ups, you don't look any less dignified.

It's a lazy way to accentuate the biceps so people will notice they still work out. Just ignore the bubble gut from lack of endurance training and twiggy legs from refusing of any sort of squat, split, standing for more than 10 minutes, etc.

I don't think biceps are enough of a tradeoff for showing off your moobs for the world to see.

The one thing that actually kills me is tucking your polo shirt in. Polo shirts aren't meant to be tucked in. They're casual shirts, they're supposed to be left untucked. They even have a longer hem in the back to cover your ass and prevent exposure back there, SPECIFICALLY because they're meant to be worn untucked. Why do so many guys tuck them in?

I get that the SNL audience tends to be older, but even 35 year olds are unlikely to be that familiar with the 80's TMNT by now. That show was off the air by 96 and never got much in the way of reruns.

When they look at themselves in the mirror they realize how far out the bottom of the shirt is from their pants, feel self conscious, and tuck it in and suck in their gut

Pfft are you kidding me? The turtles 90’s movies are big and many an older sibling or parent or cousin shows them to younger kids. 2003 turtles happens and they were huge, 2010’s turtles happens and they were huge. Rise happened, I’m not saying it sucker but it wasn’t as popular as the last 3. The mutant mayhem movie happened and people liked it. It’s harder to find a time after the 80’s period where people didn’t know about the turtles.

I'm not talking about the TMNT in general, but the 80's iteration in particular. There was a whole couple decades where the show was never on the air after it ended and not in reruns or streaming. When it's original run ended, it never got put on any other network or syndication in reruns
Yeah you'd vaguely know of them from pop culture osmosis, but I doubt many people under 35 have seen a whole episode. Later generations all have their own turtles.
It feels like it was made by older people who forget there were turtles after the original show, which I guess is par for how out of touch SNL can be.

I'm learning from experience that unfortunately old unhealed knee injuries make the heavy loading required to build big gams untenable. If sucks, I want to squat and deadlift but I also want to be able to walk in 30 years.

Probably a work habit for a lot of people. Almost every job that requires you to wear a polo also requires it to be tucked in. Have you ever worked? I'm assuming not.

Try Bulgarian splits with a 10 or 20lbs dumbbell with high reps. I found that it does a way better job targeting more muscle groups without putting a bunch of weight on your knees and spine. You just need a cushioned chair or bench to rest your other foot on.
