I think it's fine for art to go into dark and controversial places just to explore those parts of the psyche. We can't ignore the evil around us because then we become ignorant to it, and being aware of it makes it easier to fight.

But when things are subversive or perverse for the sake of it, then it's just grotesque. Pic related is far more disgusting to me than some HAIL SATAN artist. At least the latter knows they want to reveal with evil forces and embrace it, even if they're putting on a show.
