the shape of the pot always bugged me as a kid, though. I didn't pick up on what they were doing, since it really doesn't resemble the east coast ~at all~ so the bottom just looks like a weirdly drawn pot.

That said, there's definitely been a conscious effort to try to dilute western culture by shady globohomos using mass immigration, but this cartoon clearly isn't about that and was made before it really became a problem. This is a completely innocent sketch.

Awful, brain melting propaganda. The melting pot is a fundamentally failed concept because there is no unified culture. I mean, you people celebrate the formation of non-black slums ("china town", "little italy"), and think allowing people who can't speak the SOLE national language properly in spite of having been born on your own soil is some kinda freedom (in Cali, spiclang is treates as some kinda second language, it is not). There is no integration. And the fact that anyone who has been born on US soil would rather LARP about being associated with a country not even their parents have been to is absolute degeneracy.

Multiculturalism, the great Salad Bowl Theory, is the theory that proposed integration. It's the one that denies the basic tenets of nationhood by proposing that the state should take no efforts to unify the people, beyond maintaining the borders of the salad bowl. The only homogenization allowed is that everybody's to be covered in the same mystery sauce.

Both are a complete and utter fabrication.
Melting pot theory asserts that people from different backgrounds "come together somehow". It's basically the toilet stall graffiti approach to culture, and what happens in reality is that people segregate and then just ignore the rest of society. Multiculturalism is just admitting the reality of what is happening in the real world, but erroniously takes the "is" as an "ought". Neither has any relation to integration which requires a top down authority on culture backed by the majority.
