Possessivenes, lack of boundaries, and health. While the Symbiote didnt make Peter aggressive as seen in many adaptations. The Symbiote wasn't willing to consider why its actions on its host may be seen as something a host wouldn't want to deal with. Peter was exhausted and had night terrors thanks to the Symbiote taking his body on joyrides at night terrors. When Peter was confronted with the information that his costume was an alien to his discovery and tried to command it to leave him. The Symbiote didn't take no for an answer and tried to make the bond permanent without his consent twice. One when its true nature was revealed, and the second when it tricked him into wearing it again. All these flaws was what made Peter not want to bond with the Symbiote. Flaws that Eddie Brock was happy to accept when he bonded with and became Venom, for the better and for the worse.

Symbiotes don't even originally make Spider-Man stronger because they enhance you based on your own body's strength and multiply it, and he was already leagues more powerful than his bodys muscle because of radiation, it's basically just a self fixing costume for him

(though after Carnage, they pretty much dropped that and symbiotes just make anybody super strong, depending on how strong the symbiote itself is, but granted Spider-Man is already really strong anyway)

Even the "never ending web supply" is bullshit because as early Venom stories showed, the webbing is just it's own mass, so if you use too much of it the symbiote itself literally depletes and needs to regrow

Then again, the symbiote also only showed all its powers once it bonded with Brock and stopped playing clothes, so I guess Peter would benefit from being able to shapeshift his outfit, turn invisible, spit out bullets etc as much as anyone would

In early Venom appearances, Venom was only big because Brock was big, etc. When Anne was Venom, it fit her form albeit a little exaggerated as Venom had become by then, but still mostly just fitting her body. The idea that anyone who wears it can just "be Venom, a big hulking thing they float around in" is stupid to me

The Amazing Mary Jane series had her be OOC a bit but at least Leah did stuff with her acting and Spencer had her presence be used for a while.

No one likes being used to do something without they're knowing. The anger aspect was retconned because the reason Venom was angry was because Peter himself was angry when he was wearing it and also when Peter removes the symbiote he was filled with anger too so it left its mark. Venom itself is in love with Peter and if Peter only calmed himself and had like 2 hours to talk with it they could reconcile their differences.
