Overall current board culture doesn't allow for such things like projects too often
You do get the occasional /co/ ideas like Heroic Honey Bee but they usually peeter out after a while, same thing is probably gonna happen to Thong Squad after a while too. The most successful /co/ projects is still Ladybug, Golden Girl and Channel-tans since the first two have dedicated writers and artists and Channel-tans still lives on through actual children who keep discovering it and El Barto who missed out and occasionally makes threads about it an in attempt to bring it back

Then again the newer kids tend to not start or join stuff like collaborative worldbuilding/project stuff, from what I see in at least 2 boards: /co/ and /qst/. There used to be some in /tg/ but they've gone extinct.
