I utterly detest Cathy with a hatred people normally would have for the man who raped them. I am rationally against Cathy existing, as in, I can argue why it's bad; but then I am also irrationally in hate with Cathy, to the point where if I couldn't hate Cathy then I wouldn't want to be alive.

The TV specials are good and I wonder how a full series would have turned out...coexisting with The Simpsons, could it possibly have influenced adult animation away from just trying to copy Simpsons?

I strongly suspect Cathy's trajectory is like Garfield; it starts out with the author having ideas and directions they want to explore and eventually congeals into repeating the same handful of jokes forever.
