The online LGBT community is actually, literally, unironically claiming that Elio failed because they didn't make the main character gay enough.

I guess LGBT thinks that everyone loves them and would pay to see more of them. This would fly in the face of being eternal victims, no? You can't claim that most people love you and also say that you are constantly victimized.
