If equalized in size what kaiju defeat their nearest Pokemon equivalents? Whether it's the kaiju being shrunk or mons getting grown or even some unnecessarily complicated combination of both doesn't especially matter.

The end result is that they are all set to a scale where one can consider the creatures on both sides of the matchup as being volumetrically the same size.


The kaiju are matched against examples of the pokemon which are on the level of ability one should expect from any given gym leader and are commanded as such. Pick which versions of a given kaiju you think make for the more interesting matchups. Or just name match of your own, no pressure.

Yeah, as a Pokemonfag, powerscaling them is so weird and it's even worst because of Digifags. I do believe Pokemon are super powerful, but the issue came down to the pokedex and how people respond to it. Some will agree with it (look at Machamp, can throw 1000 punches in under 2 secs) and others will say it's nothing but lying shit (Marcargo entry, hotter than the sun).

Now, the main reason I say it's even worse because of digifags is that, often I will see them in /vp/ powerscaling with pokefags and will push the "the pokedex is fake" statement the hardest. However, they are also hypocrites. See, they relied on a book that tells similar things about Digimon, like the pokedex as well, and will fight tooth and nail about how canon it is while the pokedex is not. They have shit like, "Metalgreymon's missles are powerful as a nuclear bomb." How is that any different from the pokedex? I guess with statementscaling, it's fair for them to be more powerful than pokemon.

What are the odds of all these random kids making up the exact same thing independant of eachother? Probably the most likely answer is that Cara Liss wrote the entries for the fossils herself - she discovered them and is the only one who can prove they exist. Whereas Pokemon like Gardevoir are common and scientists could easily get confirmation on what they can do, all the information about these 4 Pokemon comes from one researcher. If we get additional dex entries for them in a later game it may add creedence to either theory, but to say it's "confirmed" is a stretch in the face of the other evidence

His modern storyline by Jed Mackay, which goes from Death of Doctor Strange to his current ongoing, is quite good in my opinion and something I think works for people unfamiliar with the character. You could read Doctor Strange: The Oath, which is a short storyline from 2006 that's highly regarded and is a good intro to the character, and then dive in to the modern stuff.
Beyond that if you're okay with classic comics, the original Ditko/Lee run from the 60s still has a lot of appeal with how high concept it is for the time. Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme was the run from the late 80s to the 90s that isn't for everybody cause it's a little heady and very old-comic style, but I personally really like it and it features basically every element of Strange's mythos. It's also very relevant for vs stuff because it's the run that helped heavily lay out all the cosmology of Marvel, talking about higher spatial dimensions and Cantor. I can give links for all of this if you need them.

Yeah, Reimu seems to resist many different variations of mind manipulation, but weirdly enough, hypnosis specifically is something I've never seen her go up against. Because you can't really judge a character's strength from RPG mechanics and most species of Pokémon have zero cutscene feats the Pokédex is often our only source of information about Pokémon without looking at other continuities.

But unfortunately the game developers are not physicists, and that sometimes leads to Pokédex entries making extraordinary claims. It became a common joke among the Pokémon fandom that the Pokédex doesn't make sense because the 10 year old protagonists are just making all of the information up. Somehow this idea got spread around and eventually twisted to the point that a lot of people on seem to actually think that the Pokédex isn't meant to be accurate ooc.

I could bring up the many statements that the Pokédex records data automatically or start a semantic debate by pointing out that the game protagonists are not 10 years old, but it actually doesn't matter who writes the Pokédex entries or what their method is (the dea scans them on the spot) Whether the Pokédex is written by 3 year olds doesn't change that the Pokédex is absolutely intended to be an accurate source of information about Pokémon. Pokémon professors in every game praise the player for gathering data, no one in any season/game implies that the Pokédex might not be accurate, short of maybe a handful of times in the anime since it’s a nice stock plot to have a mystery. Sun/Moon a scientist reads directly from the Pokédex when talking to you about Corsola being overhunted by Toxapex.
