EL Tigre returns?
Fuck you, it's a twitter screencap thread about something worth talking about.

Could this go monkey's paw or will it be great? The original run didn't actually fail, after all, it was just dropped in favor of focusing on proven hit Spongebob when the recession hit.

Meh. I don't really care. The only characters I really care about are Zoe Avez and Frida. I really liked the Zoe and El Tigre romance episode, most other episodes are things I don't want to rewatch.

Do Hispanics even like this style of gross-out humor? I remember there being a lot of fart jokes in El Tigre, Mucha Lucha, and Primos. Aren't there other things Hispanics would rather see than lucha stuff?

El Tigre's legacy is clean and controversy-free so expected.

Meanwhile, the robot girl show is tainted.. but perfect for anyone who loves rape, mind-control, rape, rape, rape and rape, and also rape.

This is the one "come see our minority-made content!" show that isn't faggotry (despite Gutierrez later conforming to the Latinx faggtory). Miracle City is an amusing fantasy version of Mexico City where most people are weird assholes instead of a le heckin devirse advertisement.

There's been a fuck ton of revivals in recent years, often not for the better... but fuck I would be happy to see El Tigre back.

However, I would want the show to have the balls to stick with the final choice between hero and villain. It would suck ass if they bring it back only for Manny to be an indecisive fence sitter again. FUCKING COMMIT.

Yeah, this is why I’m not happy to see it come back. It won’t be a second season revival of a beloved show, it’ll be a mouthpiece. Hope you’re ready for episode-long tweets.

Wanna be excited but Jorge has proven himself to be a basedboy latinx leftoid. I have no faith in a reboot to be good.

It didn't show up in the original show, although he could have lost the plot since then I suppose, if he wasn't just conforming. That shit is rapidly losing tolerance from audiences so maybe he'll keep a lid on it?

El Tigre didn't fail 20 years ago. It's not 20 years ago anymore, not the audience, the studios, or the creators. Also "in talks" and "the show has released" are very very far apart. Basically, hope it happens and is good, but I'm not holding my breath.

Not the same thing. El Tigre was killed WAY too early in its life. The show was solid, but it was also clearly one that meant a lot to Jorge Gutierrez since it came from such a personal place. He's never really abandoned the idea of possibly bringing it back somehow, and I feel like the artbook's sales last year should make for the strongest argument why it'd be smart for Nick to look into making Gutierrez's dreams come true.

I'm not against a revival if it's for a series being given a second chance at life rather than one that already had a lengthy run and is clearly only being brought back for easy money.
