Whomp!
We've all had that situation where we momentarily ignored a label and picked up the fat-free refried beans, the no-salt-added vegetable juice, or the de-bittered almonds. You can't even eat enough of them to get the cyanide effects!

I know this feel, but I actually enjoy my fillings sort of hanging out there. Makes it so I get more of them than bread. Of course if it's a spread sandwich it's understandably disappointing.

I also love savings, so outside of nearly expired or detrimental to my health condition, I'd gladly by deformed things if I got them at a discount.

You put the fillings on one side and fold the bread in half to make a little thing people of below a certain childhood income level will know as a "taco" or a "sub sandwich" depending on how comfortable your parents were with lying to you.

Nigga, it was great value toaster treats if your single mother paid all the bills. AND it was always the unfrosted strawberry since that was 5 cents cheaper.

How long before people post the same handful of comics from like 2012 to remind themselves of when this comic wasn't a sad shadow of what it once was?

>I actually enjoy my fillings sort of hanging out there. Makes it so I get more of them than bread.
Yeah, bread in itself is used as a container so you can hold everything without getting your hands wet or burning them on hot meat.

You also get to taste more of the meat/veggies/sauce, which bread only dulls the taste of.

I wonder why no one's really thought of making a bread that doesn't get in the way of the filler inside it. I get that people ALSO like the taste of bread, but the majority of people like the inside stuff the most.
I think it's a waste of money to use quality meat if you're only going to hide its taste with bread.

Gotta wonder what this pic tastes like. Using potatoes instead of bread.

ive taken the "open faced sandwich" pill for the past five years now, especially if im using white bread. there is very little point to being able to grip the sandwich in a classical way unless im multitasking, and if im multitasking, im not giving the sandwich enough respect during the creation process in the first place

Just use thin bread/buns. A lot of bread is sliced ridiculously thick. Which isn't a problem on its own, and some kinds of sandwiches need the structural integrity, but a majority of sandwich-types really don't need thick bread.

This reminds me of going on a Church camp trip and having mayonnaise, lettuce, and cheese sandwiches. We ran out of lettuce by the time I got to eat and I did not like mayonnaise.

It's full of as much sugar as they are able to cram in before the government stops letting them call it bread. Of course you liked it, it's basically cake.

Meh.

I've tried all sorts of breads and while they all add their own flavors, it's always in detriment toward the actual thing I'm seeking to eat.

IF the bread wasn't the filler that it's mean to be in a sandwich, I'd do away with it completely. And sometimes i do eat chicken and hamburger patties without the buns, but with better, tastier stuff, like potato, rice, or pasta dishes.

Bread is a convenient filler. That's it.

There's the thing though, I saw a video about how the Focaccia is great plain or for a sandwich, but that's because of the effort of the cuisine. If you have average or bad bread more or less barely matters compared to what's between it.

If you think you made a good sandwich and it's on fucking sliced white bread you need to get that shit out of my face
Fresh baguette for subs, onion roll for brisket or corned beef, brioche or potato rolls for classic sandwiches

I've tried tons and tons of breads, including potato bread.
I have various asian bakeries (multiple japanese, filipino, taiwanese, etc) and wannabe french ones around me. Probably the best bakery I've been to is run by Mexicans, and their melon breads are better than what i find in the japanese grocery stores (fresh or packaged).

Bread isn't exciting and why i generally just buy stuff you find in grocery stores, where potato bread is actually my main choice. Seems to be consistently good, no matter the brand or shop.
