It's insane how I give even less of a shit about these characters than I did the original pre 4 MCU.

Having recently read the sixties Captain America runs where Falcon Cap's sidekick, it bums me out the movie version is just "stock military guy." The original character was weird as fuck, but was interesting and kinda fun. Him just being a guy with a jetpack is a lot less interesting.

I love U.S Agent, only good character from the past decade of the MCU, and I love that he gets to go to these amazing fantastical plot relevant missions. Especially because I know a lot of people on twitter who still associate him with police brutality are seething about it.
I doubt he has long to live due to Marvels allergy to good characters. But if he dies like a hero and gets respect from the avengers, that will be enough for me. Especially because the seething of his haters would be even harder.
Absolute zero faith on everything else about the movie though, its gonna be a nightmare.

anon the "not complete script" thing is to keep the actors on their toes from not leaking what the movie is. Infinity war had 5 different scripts that they acted out in it's entirety just so none of them could actually spoil the ending. The only common denominator among the 5 was thanos winning but who lived in each version was different. They would not have started filming nor would they have made the sequel come out next year if they didn't already know how this movie was going to end.

Cap 4 is just "meh". As a movie it's not bad but it does NOTHING to progress sam wilson's character. Like literally nothing. If you saw the falcon and winter soldier show, you are basically caught up on his arc besides the fact that the president made him the captain of the new avengers team (that he has not even recruited yet)

I work on Doomsday and got some monkey's paw shit:

The good: John Walker has a major role AND gets to call out Falcon for being a piece of shit towards him.

The bad: Johnny is going to be joined at the hip to Brie Larson as far as John/Carol becoming a couple and most of John's scenes being with Carol.

Disney has decided to basically use John as their last ditch effort to get Carol over with fans. They know John is popular so they are going to have Carol stand up for John when Sam tries to bar him from being involved in the plot of Doomsday and having John's back when he calls Sam out when Sam keeps harping on John killing a terrorist. They will kiss and there will be a scene with Hulk and Wong where both of them will immediately take to John because of Carol endorsing him as a good guy

If you're saying the MCU Sam Wilson is an interesting, engaging character, then you're lying/trolling. It's simply not possible to be interested in a character that bland. I can understand supporting him for political reasons, but not out of genuine interest.

The character is just boring and lacks a personality. He isn't funny, he takes everything too serious but not in a comedic way like thor, or in a threatening way like nick fury. He's just a random military guy. Has nothing to do with race. Nick fury? Cool. He who remains? Cool. Heimdall? Cool. It's just sam wilson that is a shit character. Torrez falcon is actually fun to watch.

Captain America meets him on an island being ran as a slave colony by old Nazis. He teaches him how to fight and they lead a revolt, and back in the city he's a social worker by day and a vigilante by night. He's also is friends with a bird from the island (if I recall correctly, he was a a falconer, and the Nazis tricked him into coming to the island to showcase that? It's admittedly weird.) And the bird helps him out and also he has a daredevil style grapple weapon.

A lot of his place in the series is sort of questioning himself as a black man, and sort of whether or not he can actually make a difference punching crime, and how he relates to Steve. It's very 60's/70's silver age but it's kind of impressive they were trying to tackle social issues at all. Eventually he gets a jetpack from wakanda, and then it's revealed he's a mutant, and then his whole story gets a very stupid retcon. It's sort of incoherent at times, but it's a lot more interesting than "I was a military guy who did jack pack stuff, in the military." His uncertainty about how he fits into the world mirrors Cap's own uncertainty, and they are a fun pair.

I have to admit I expected that with this being the make-or-break film for the MCU, they would be mostly filming with the few bankable stars they have left (probably Holland, Jackman, Reynolds, Cumberbatch, Pratt) but they really do seem to have been mostly working with the stars of recent underperforming movies. If Fantastic Four underperforms that will leave what, Shuri as the character on the set whose movie did the best?

It's a weird approach that may change if they can sign up some of the other guys before filming is over, but it really feels like they're counting on Downey alone to match the performance of Downey + the stars of multiple recent box-office hits.

Avengers: Infinity War had basically everyone who was bankable, it didn't occur to me that they would actually do a much less guaranteed hit with the "you will learn to like the cast of Brave New World and Thunderbolts and Kelsey Grammer's Beast" approach.

No offense meant to Kelsey Grammer and/or Kelsey Grammer's Beast, he was just the first non-Jackman X-Man who came to mind, but it's unfair because he wasn't in the last couple of Fox X-Men movies, so the stench of failure only comes from his having been in The Marvels.
