I was thinking about this yesterday, but a Ben 10 action game would be super solid. Particularly, the ability to switch aliens on the fly, the countdown being an upgradable. PlatinumGames is a shell of its former self, but it's a shame they never made a game.

I'll just ask it here. Are any of the sequel series worth watching if I love the original, but am not crazy about "darker" superhero shows? The thing that I loved about Ben 10 was its cool aliens and sci-fi concepts, but from what I've seen of the other shows, it doesn't look like they focus on the same thing as the original. Omniverse in particular seems incredibly desperate and trite. Any thoughts?

Alien Force was a good attempt. Actually attempted to make Ben grow as a character. Ultimate Alien and Omniverse were like "Here's an idea, what if he didn't?" and reduced him to the same immaturity that was cute when he was 10 years old, but makes him look like a prick when he's closing in on his 20's.

Point is, Ben 10 sequels can work on the proviso that you allow Ben to grow and evolve as a character. Like that scene in Alien force where he chews out Nemesis for "It's not about the fame, it's about actually helping people in need. Doing the right thing."

Making Ben evolving from being a kid who has cool super powers into a man who understands his responsibility to help people is a great step. I want to see more of that.

I think all three sequel series are worth checking out, but none really capture the vibe of the original.
Alien Force and Ultimate Alien are more standard, DCAU-esque superhero fare in both tone and design while Omniverse tried to dial it back but went too far and became more of a comedy than an action show.
To say nothing of the constant retcons.

Omniverse arguably has the most focus on aliens and sci-fi concepts than any other series. And this is without completely abandoning things like magic like Alien Force tried to do before they backpedaled on that.
We actually pretty regularly go to alien worlds and there's a whole arc for the Halloween Aliens. They introduce the concept of aliens having their own natural predators, fleshing them out a little more in the process.

Ultimately each series has their own flaws, Classic included, and you just have to come to terms with that to enjoy what good stuff there is if you plan on watching them.
