What did you morons expect? Even if Gunn served the crappiest Superman movie ever made, it would still sell well because of name recognition. Snyder was never coming back.

Man of Steel had the advantage of not coming out when most people are already sick and tired of superhero movies.
It's also partly the reason people are sick and tired of superhero movies.

Prediction: it won't quite breakeven domestically (200m budget plus assumed 200m in marketing), but the international box office will help it limp to 600 or 700 million

It was only$116.6 million. It's about the same as the last one when you adjust for inflation. Which is actually good news because Man of Steel was a hit.

To be fair, the Superman vs Zod fight was probably the closest thing to DBZ fight in cinema. The movie could have been great if it weren't for that Tornado scene and Lois being a redhead.

And it didn't have to overcome the pubic perception of "DC movies suck" that Snyder created.

This. The movie was shit but the action will never be topped. Superman and wonder woman vs Doomday was good too.

Do Syndercultists unironically think Superman succeeding would somehow make reviving the Synderverse *less* likely instead of *more* or are they just trolling?
