You know when I first heard they casted a woman for Silver Surfer I was hoping for like a Hellraiser 2022 situation where Surfer would be portrayed as a gender ambiguous "alien" otherworldly being but imagine my disappointment with the full reveal. The MCU does this a lot, just changes things for no real reason except that they've been done before. That's why MCU Spidey doesn't have an Uncle Ben, which is ironic since that series ended up looking back to the older Spider-Man movies and never really became its own thing.

finally saw the trailer, a 3D version, today at a matinee animated movie I caught
Pedro was actually the least objectionable of the four, although Ben guy is hardly in it. Johnny actor at least had the right emotions and dialogue but just looks wrong, both him and sue actress are rocking bad dye jobs - I mean, Nicholas Hoult looks excellent in all his publicity interviews and still photos from premieres and elsewhere, so why are these hair dye jobs so awful? It can't be that they are aping 1960s product quality?
The art direction was the best thing about it, but it looks like something to pirate, not to watch in a theater.
