>>149390175I mean, yes but no. You could technically skip almost the entire first season because it's mostly quote/unquote "filler" but it's the best part of the entire series and imo each episode is a must watch.
After that, the show starts to get more into lore and even though there are some episodes that are potentially mid I'm not sure you can 100% skip them and not get a little confused later.
If you really want to skip things I'd say all the alien bear episodes, Barb episodes, Yeti episodes, Monster episodes, Sandwich Monastery episodes, non-magical village episodes, ghost episodes, and the mole people episode can all be skipped and you'll still be able to finish the series without getting really confused along the way, but a lot of those are really good, too, and some have nice character development, interesting tidbits about the world, and fun adventures in them.
Honestly, the number of episodes per season shrink considerably after season one, which is arguably the best season imo even though some may disagree. I would just work your way through season one and have a good time. If you like it then it probably won't bother you to just watch the rest as seasons 2 & 3 combined are the length of season one and likewise seasons 4 & 5 are also the length of season one, so it will be more like watching two seasons of gradually increasing lore after that with a short special season to wrap it all up afterwards. If you don't like Season One there's probably no reason to continue watching the show at all unless the lore somehow really sucks you in and you want to know what's going to happen.
