They're well animated and I respect their contributions but I don't think I laughed at a single joke

They had sort of a boomer humor vibe in that a lot of the jokes were written by boomers for boomers, ex. many jokes feel like reference humor for whatever adults happen to be watching

I never thought they were supposed to be gag cartoons. Talespin pretty explicitly is an adventure cartoon.

Timon & Pumbaa is the only Disney Afternoon cartoon that felt like it was entirely gag oriented, though Darkwing Duck and Bonkers did have a lot of humor as well

I wouldn't have considered these to be 'funny' cartoons. They're adventure cartoons, for the most part.

I feel like WB cartoons tried to make you laugh, while Disney cartoons just tried to make you feel good in general.

Do you live in Florida by any chance? I know someone from Florida who's autistically obsessed with comedy. He believes all animation MUST be Looney Tunes, and be wacky comedy all the time, or else it's not "pure cartoons" or something.

They're more light-hearted comedic kids' adventure cartoons than outright comedies. They're not supposed to be laugh out loud funny but more like a softer version of shows like Batman: The Animated Series.
