Don't be overly aggressive. Don't be selfish. Be considerate of others and try to be nice to people. Try to be the kind of person you would want as a friend. Or if you are "autistic," understand most people don't want to be around someone who is "real" all the time. Just be nice and think about others and how they feel, and what they would want. Carl's home had wooden paddling. Carl's flat-screen TV is the size of a credit card. Carl's swimming pool is above ground and not in-ground. Carl wastes lots of money on his car just because he is that kind of guy. He sometimes impalsavely buys crap but I don't think it's due to him being well off and just rellying on credit cards. Now we could argue what poor means exactly. I would say he is at best lower middle class. If he does have disposable income, it's just because he comes from a more prosperous time and has no family to support. Carl only has 2 "nice" things. His house, which is in a bad neighbourhood with vinyl siding and wood panelling. And his car. Carl is the kind of guy who really only has one nice thing. His car. Carl is supposed to be relatively poor. But it's just the economy has become so bad even a guy like Carl seems like he is killing it. Same thing with "The Simpsons".

I'll answer with my own question, what parts of Carl do you NOT want to be?

For ease, I'll assume it's everything:

>Porn addiction: Either abstain or create your own erotic fantasies (in private if you wish) through a creative medium that you have confidence in. Choose whichever option comes easier.
>Fat and Unhealthy: Exercise in way that you are comfortable with (gym, hiking, weights, etc.), and manage your diet through any kind of means you can stick to (apps, friends, adding healthier food instead of removing unhealthy food, etc.).
>Loneliness: Get a job that you tolerate, maybe go to a dating app when you're ready (I've heard match.com is a good place if you want a serious relationship, but it costs money).
>Wasting your life: Know what you desire, know the limits of your abilities, go for it, and don't expect to get payment or recognition for it.

You know what's really fucked up? Even fucking Carl from Aqua Teen Hanger Force, the show many people cite as the most realistic depiction of poverty in animation, even he is considered well off by todays standerds. Now he isn't the poorest character on the show, but he's close to it. And the guy has no life. He has no real friends. Most of his stuff is junk, and he is too depressed to even put a cover on his mattress. He has no family, no real friends and yet. He has an old shitty car he supped up and a crappy cheap house in a shit neighborhood and that makes him a king by todays standards. Eventually, people will think the Aqua Teens themselves were killing it. "Wow, they were able to rent a 2-bedroom house with a yard? And only one of the people living there had to sleep in the living room!?" I guess the Aqua Teens never had a bathroom, so that's one thing we will never do without . . . I hope.
