Trixie needed way more character development to achieve deserving that, and even then, I think it would have been just as boring and predictable as Sam/Danny. They were sort of even intending that with Wishology and I never felt like "wow this couple will sure last..." when Trixie was sitting there demanding wishes in exchange for sex.

The comic book episode was a good start for Trixie, but it was infamously never followed up on. Not to mention I actually respect Tootie as a punch above her weight dark horse, she was always one of Timmy's few reliable non-fairy helpers on the show even up until season 7, then she just disappears. So does Trixie. It was written to be fair to both but ultimately ended up unfair and unsatisfying for everyone.
