Some people just don't. I've worked in phone support for years and whenever people tell me I don't have a regional accent all the time.

As someone from the south if you move to a big city in the north and want to work in jobs like say journalism you can't have a thick southern/hillbilly accent. You will just not be hired by a lot of places because of it.

I'm all for the ideal MoS interpretation which is that Ma and Pa Kent are scared and don't have all the answers and don't know how best to protect their son while knowing he is capable of so much more

But the film really doesn't do itself any factors when Pa Kent sacrifices himself for a dog in the most contrived setup possible

I view MoS like I view the Star Wars prequels.
The ideas are solid and sometimes it works in the movie but a lot of the dialogue and writing choices are so abysmal that they overshadow all the kernels of good to the point of making them damn near invisible.

Pa Kent put his life on the line to save an innocent, sounds like something the classic Superman would do. not only that, but he sacrificed his life to make sure Clark wouldn't reveal his powers and end up as a government lab rat or ostracized by irrational people.

what about this is hard to understand? tornados don't ask for permission to fuck everything up.

I feel like Snyder probably saw that scene in For all Seasons and much like everything else COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT

This is really is such a Snyder take. You dress up something simple in heavy handed forced depth or symbolism while completely misunderstanding the material. You think it sounds smart but then you think about it for any time longer than it took to say and you realize how moronic it all actually is.

My parents are literal Hillbillies from Appalachia. I grew up watching TV shows from California and New York which ruined my accent.
