As a kid (or ignorant adult) you think the Oscars are like the Olympics where whoever wins is because its well deserved, as an adult and adult that understands how the movies are nominated and choose, it becomes clear quality is not the most important thing the voters look for when casting their votes so the Oscars becomes meaningless.
