Whats a more interesting concept with an anthro comic. one where most of the world is turned into anthros, or one where they already existed and its normal.

Is dealing with your wife turning into a huge elephant woman or small mouse, more interesting than just having animals already existing, and using them to represent people or groups in society?

The most interesting take I read was where the anthros exist as a government project to create supersoldiers by splicing animal DNA into humans, seeking to use animal abilities for combat purposes, like heightened hearing and night-time vision for stealth missions. The project end up going tits up after a minor leak causes the government to panic that public would go fucking berserk if they found out they were basically committing human experimentation, resulting in the anthros being executed en masse with less than 100 managing to escape and forced to go into hiding. It has kind of a middling ending that makes you want more but the artist just draws alt-universe porn of the characters now and doesn't seem interested in making a real continuation. it also has a really rough start.

Not really the art so much as the setup, it starts out just looking like a human and anthro character being lovey-dovey with no substance. His style did improve pretty dramatically over the comic's run though.

If anthros were real I think humans would hate them they'd be too dangerous especially if the animals keep some of their unique traits. Humans barely tolerate their own race and suddenly a different species will be tolerated come on.

If anthros were real they either would have fully integrated into society and been seen as peers with humans or been hunted to extinction out of tribalist fears of them destroying us, assuming they didn't inherently outnumber us to the point that we'd either be forced to coexist with them or be hunted to extinction ourselves. So you either live in a world where anthros are already dead, grew up with them being fully normalized, or don't exist because humans are extinct.

Why are those the only options? What about an isekai into an anthro fantasy world? A world where some people choose to turn themselves into anthros through advanced medical science? A world where humanity makes contact with aliens and they happen to be anthros? Or even where the anthro aliens are forced to live on Earth, District 9 style? You could go loads of different directions when the only solid concept you have is "humans and anthros coexist for some reason."

I wish there were more sci-fi stories like this. I like the idea of first contact with aliens being in the form of displaced alien refugees who have to throw their lot in with a species of primitive ape people. I suppose Men in Black is basically just this.

I feel like early humans and anthros would probably have competed and fought until certain parts of the world were basically anthro-only while other parts were human-only. Then after thousands of years when civilizations started to form they'd both observe that human and anthro "regions" existed and probably try to work out why within the contexts of their own cultures. Would be interesting to imagine how the world would evolve in such a scenario where there were basically human and anthro cultures that grew up and influenced each other side by side.
