Crazy that Gunn thought it'd be one of the highlights.

People are too fucking stupid to realize Lois was just pointing out inherent flaws in his reasoning. If Superman is prepared to stop a war, he'd better be prepared to answer to the powers that be and give a good reason as to why he did it. Because spoiler alert, DC Earth is just like ours' in that it's ruled by a bunch of fucking morons. It would be very easy to look at it as American overreach and then whoops, someone tries to start a war with the U.S. or something because they think we're ignoring treaties, geopolitical alliances, whatever, to further American interests.

No, they aren't, since the movie hammers that point home harder than Thor. Still makes Lois come off as manipulative and it's completely undermined by the fact Superman was completely right about Boravia and Hawkgirl kills their president with zero repercussions beyond Rick Flag looking mildly irritated.

>Still makes Lois come off as manipulative
HOW was Lois manipulative in the slightest?

>and it's completely undermined by the fact Superman was completely right about Boravia
It's less that he's right and more that assholes may use his attempt to do good to do some bad. Which is exactly what ended up happening in the movie.

>and Hawkgirl kills their president with zero repercussions beyond Rick Flag looking mildly irritated.
And Hawkgirl isn't Superman. Plus Rick Flag and the other general guy were pretty concerned that it's looking like DC Earth is entering an age where metahumans just do whatever the fuck they want, so it's obvious Hawkgirl's assassination is going to have negative repercussions.

>Lois come off as manipulative
It's really obvious you haven't watched the movie and are basing this on the trailer (and the YT/TikTok and other social media chatter about the scene as edited in the trailer)
And worse, not even having your own original ideas, but taking your talking steps from the idiots yelling at you on YT or ALL CAPS SCREAMING at you on Xshitter

Lois is a diehard journalist who will make the most pressing questions even if they don't align with her personal ethos, because that's just how journalism is supposed to be. Journalism's core is "supposed" to be about holding those in power accountable. Superman is now someone in power who, although good natured and only wanting the best possible outcome, must be held accountable by the press.

It also has a dual purpose of setting up Clarks mindset, that he didn't think about all of that because to him he was able to save those lives and so he did and how he will influence the Justice Gang to think in a similar way. Like it's so clearly setting up a US government vs Justice League plot it isn't even funny.

We actually don't know what will happen after the fact. It's more than likely the US goverment will still go after Maxwell Lord for letting his personal band of mercenaries kill a head of state, setting up another movie.
