What was weird? Did they power (overpower) him up for the movie? I only know him from the flash tv show (lol) and one of the animated movies (where he was playing chess with Supes...can't remember the name).

I found him to be one of the better parts of the movie.

The flying chair/suit makes more sense than what he does in the comics, doing a balancing act with the T-spheres. He's not that obscure. He's been on TV before, both live action and cartoon.

This cycle plays out every time some new slop gets dumped into the trough. People that have never read a comic before start going "I like this character I want to read this character" only to discover it's all complete dogshit.

It being a "flying chair" is newish, he's always used the T Spheres to move, both in the comic books (usually as small balls under each foot he kinda balances on through space or as one larger ball he also balances on, as was shown in animation - see PICREL).

Terrifics (a team book) is probably the only good recent comic and it should be easy to find pirate copies of on line as it's all been collected and ripped. All the rest you've been recommended are all team books but he's a minor character in almost all of them, by and large, where at least he leads the team in The Terrifics and pulls focus.

Terrific was a goddamn highlight of the movie

We've been saying for YEARS stop putting Cyborg on a Justice League team just because he was in season 8 of Super Friends.

Put a good black guy on the team like Mr. Terrific he's a much better character, Cyborg belongs on Teen Titans. This movie gave us vindication, he stole the show.

So what other obscure characters do you want to see get attention now? For me its

I don't understand the hype of this character. He's just some smart black guy who rips off Batman's catchphases and talks in jive. He felt more like a plot device than a character. Gunn doesn't know how to make good black characters.

He's really not a minor character.
JSA is a large ensemble, but the characters are juggled well. IIRC the Mr. Terrific focused arcs were the one vs Roulette and the one vs Kobra.
He's the deuteragonist in mid-00s Checkmate and he's dating the main character. He's all over the series.
Final Crisis Resist and JSA v Kobra are both his books.

They should do another Mr. Terrific vs the Kobra Cult book. They completely abandoned it in the New 52.
