>>149383513 (OP)>domestic gross>>149383513 (OP)>They must literally only care about domestic grossYou are all brain rotted, what with saying that Jurassic World Rebirth, which barely hit below $580 million worldwide this weekend being 'close to' or 'almost at billion' and totally 'ass blasting' (or words to that effect) DC/WB and Superman. There's over $400M before JWR hits a billion. And if it doubles what it's made international so far, that only takes it up to about $800M.
Yes, it's a success, yes it will gross more in China than Superman. But other than China, the markets where JWR made money, it's not making it at the same level as opening, adding for example, only a few million to the $10M plus it made opening weekend in the UK, and likewise similar situations in Mexico and other markets where it pulled really well opening.
Lilo will likely end up as the biggest film and possibly the only one to cross $1B in 2025, that is not animated (Zootopia) and is not a Avatar sequel - and Avatar will likely make all it's money in 2026, so it won't count as a $1B movie in calendar 2025.
WB cares about worldwide grosses, and probably expects Superman to make more than MoS made overseas and either match or beat what The Batman did, which will be considered a success given that even the movie they are releasing for Apple (F1) is still doing decent business overseas and the competition overseas being brisker.
Some idiots have been saying that people didn't go see Superman overseas because they spent their money seeing JWR - that's idiotic and stupid, since they are buying tickets this weekend to see F1, to still see Lilo and, yes, to see Superman.
