There's so many combos you can set up with just the cards he's held. Same for Ash having a good variety of team setups if you go whole hog autistic with the IV/EV/Nature/Moves/Item spread, and obviously his broken Lv500 Pikaman is gonna be a cornerstone of his team regardless.
