1 was genuinely bad with a few good moments.

2 was better, with far more good moments. I would almost call it a good movie if not for all the wedding bullshit and all the focus on the humans.

I disagree. It felt like 1 was the only good movie because it wasn't adapting any specific plot from the games, which the second and third movies suffer from doing, ESPECIALLY movie 3 which really suffers from having to keep the human characters outside of Carrey involved.

3 only adapted the sonic vs shadow fights from sa2. Tails and Knuckles didn't need to be there they had their parts cut entirely. Could literally just start the movie from where Tom gets fridged and Sonic says "ill just use the emeralds i had the entire time but didn't use because we wanted to waste the audiences time first"

2 was closer to what a Sonic movie should be, but I honestly think I liked 1 better overall. The first had better character writing while in 2 I think Knuckles is the only character handled decently. Tails feels largely shafted despite being in the literal logo. I feel like that wedding sequence was written for him specifically until some studio head stepped and told the guys in charge of the project that the movie needed more black people antics or whatever, so we ended up with two sisters fighting government agents with Tails' gadgets in a sequence that wasn't very funny and went on for way too long. Also Carrey just spent most of the movie doing bad improv compared to the first where it he seemed to be following an actual script.
I guess 3 is the best of the trilogy, but it's still only a 6/10.

These movies just kind of whatever. Sonic is very annoying in 2 and 3 to the point where he ends up being one of the worst characters. They did a better job at balancing the "annoying youth" angle in the first one.

I never see anyone attacking these movies. If anything I see people act like they are way better than they could ever possibly be.
Personally I won't shit on them since I won't watch them and therefore can't really judge them. They look like a Smurf live action kind of thing but with Sonic.

Sonic's built this weird consoomer cult in the fandom now where they must absolutely pretend the sloppiest slop to ever been slopped is amazing and "peak" for doing nothing and you're not allowed to dislike it or you're not part of the fandom, it's like the total opposite of the old fandom.

The first movie was on track to be a disaster as is typical of video game movie adaptations but the fact that the producers course corrected to make something decent was a shocking miracle. I think that makes people more forgiving of the movies.

That's because you're stupid. It's not like Paramount's previous projects had masterful character designs.
They pretty much went through the same shit with their "Monster Trucks" movie, where the initial design for titular monster was horrifying to kids during test screenings, so they had to quickly redo the monster's design/scenes, and then just threw the final movie out to flop anyway.

I didn't like how 'cosmic' 3 felt. The big finale being Sonic and Shadow flying around space fighting an army of robots while a moon sized laser prepares to destroy the Earth and Eggman is also teaming up with everyone to fight Robotnik with a bunch of nanobots just felt like too much. 2 had the best balance, it's just a big robot that everyone needs to team-up on to take down. That's perfect, that's how I like my Sonic.

i liked 1 and 2 enough that i rewatched both twice. Somehow i feel no desire to watch the third, and depending on the plot i might not watch the amy one or any other material ever.
I just don't care man, why everything has to be this big cinematic universe instead of just one good movie.
