I'm forcing myself to watch the series. Last time I had picked it up was till the end of S3 several years ago, but after S3 that they just keep adding more annoying betrayers from one race to a family member or something like that.
I'm forcing myself to keep watching it because I care about some character like Rayla, Callum, Soren and even Claudia but everyone else around are just awful and ruin everything else especially the forced queer romance between the Prince's aunt and the fire elf queen which results in more conflicts.

I haven't checked any thread about this show since the end of S3. I only recently re-subbed to Kikeflix so I re-started to watch it from the 1st episode of S3 since I forgot a lot/most about it. But why did they have to turn Aunt Amalia dyke with the Sun Queen for no reason. In S3 she had practically told her : "go fuck yourself" but with the sign language.

The Dragon Prince was one of my biggest disappointments in recent years. As everyone else mentioned, I'm unsure what happened with the writing staff after the initial seasons. I know there was the slight delay after the initial, big Netflix renewals, but the difference in script quality between them is night and day. Look, any time you have an all-ages show there will naturally be some goofier, lighter moments for the younger audience but the script should never dumb itself down to cater exclusively to this demo — something The Dragon Prince wound up falling into time and time again.

As others have mentioned, much of the plot felt superfluous half the time. You had Rayla and Callum moving the story along before taking pointless detours into Fire Elf politics (that rarely amounted to anything), a Soren adventure (where Soren learns the same lesson for the dozenth time) or an Ezran plushie marketing excuse (look, more toads to collect!). And that is probably the most upsetting thing is that, if done correctly, all these side-stories absolutely could tie back into the main narrative arc but they rarely ever did. Honestly, most seasons could be cut down to the first two and last two episodes, and the audience could still get the jist of where the story is going.

I have so much to say about this show honestly.

Humans are subjectively the victims in almost every situation and it annoys me that they're always portrayed as the bad guys but also have barley done anything that wasn't extremely justified.
