Looking back did Liefeld's run on the Crimson Chin deserve the cancelation?

It was a bold and interesting adaptation of the classic character. Admittedly, his translations of some of The Chin's villains were gratuitous, and we all know who his favorite was, but the core was strong and deserved to at least wrap up it's big cliff hanger. Or at least not get replaced with what came after.

Yes but I wish they could've at least properly finished the story.

It was a bit much. Though I will admit I love the idea of a chin pocket, really seems like great utility CC was missing up until that point.

Even when parodied, the 90s Extreme superhero aesthetic is just inherently cool, and appealing to the teenage boys who used to be the core audience for cape comics, and it's time we stopped pretending it's not.

was decapitating his foes with his chin really necessary?

>Have Crimson Chin kill off half the body of evil in the first issue.
>Replace them with shitters like The Khromium Knee or The Ventinihilator.
Don't get me started the Krimzon Kill...

What? You didn't like the Crimson Upperchin? It was at least better than the time they went in reverse and he would crush them with his chin.

That was the Nega Chin in disguise. Though to be fair no one read the Author's afterward and the comic getting cancelled before the reveal didn't help at all.

I did like Cat-Man's look in the 90's. Its not popular only because they decided to make him a full-on werecat and people these days think that was meant to appeal to the furry community. I just think he looks cool.

Did Bronze Kneecap really need to rape that girl? I mean I’m not one of those people that gets their panties in a knot over it but it just felt out of character. Like he was a fucking Jai Lai player that mostly did petty thefts or basic ransom shit. Rape is way out of his purview. Not to mention making Charle Indigo a heroin addict was retarded. And I could have sworn that cleft made a later appearance yet he showed up in issue #25

What did you guys think of Grant Morrison's run? I liked it but it's a bit overhyped

It's funny, as much as that used to get memed on in forums back in the day, it really only came up three or so times.

>>149403693
It is, but for good reason. It's pretty much a protoype of Morrison's later work, but also a perfect distillation of him at his best. The Choose Your Own Adventure issue alone is worth the accolades. And the finale only gets better with age. It's like the complete antithesis to the end of his Batman run.

>letting catman win the match up
>using the cat-armor he wore only once ever in a spin-off
the only good thing to come out of the crossover was a pretty sick publicity event in dimmsdale where they showed off a life-size prop of it that actually moved

I don't like how Garth Ennis made a thinly-veiled Crimson Chin parody character in his comic and had him fuck propstitutes to death with his chin, felt needlessly spiteful. Also the reveal his chin is a tumor AND an erogenous zone was a bit much.

The amount of comic book jokes and shout outs in Hartman works is pretty impressive to say the least
Anonymous No.149405845 [Report] >>149406320
All the edgy stuff that came out later really pales in comparison to the Denny O'Neal where he had the chin combat issues like police brutality, the oil crash, and drug addiction.

Rob Queen's run on Crimson Chin just really sucked.
The whole thing just consisted of Chin just sobbing and feeling bad for himself over the crimes against humanity he committed in the Middle East.
Not even sure where that plot point even came from. It just feels like Queen didn't give a shit about Crimson Chin lore beyond the surface level wiki page read.
