The OG averaged around 600,000 in viewership on episode premieres back in the 2000s and the ENTIRE channel only has a daily viewership of 60k ~ 150k in the past years. Being a cheap show with okay/solid viewership and merchandise sales is much more safe for execs than a show that has high viewership but costs a shitton to make and has merchandising complications (see the big change from Bandai to Mattel for CN work in 2006 while Bandai was contracted to be the sole merchandiser for TT).
