Honestly I'm ok with this, as it seems like unlike the MCU, Gunn is intentionally building up the world from the get go instead of just making shit up as they go.

I was worried about the text scroll in Superman but it actually worked really well and made it feel more like a lived-in world.

Supergirl is the perfect follow-up to Superman.

It comes out next summer, its already in production. There will be only be a 12 month wait for audiences since Superman. Krypto will be in it.

If rumors are true that the next thing with Superman is a team-up with Supergirl, you would get: a Superman movie, Supergirl movie, a Superman + Supergirl movie. That's a really coherent strategy and almost like a trilogy.

And then it pivots to establishing Wonder Woman, Batman and Robin, and maybe Teen Titans. And then it can pivot back to Worlds Finest and then the Justice League.

The concern trolling around Sgt Rock and Clayface is really disingenuous. In every piece of publicity about those movies, its been made evident that they were pitched by the filmmakers and had scripts that Gunn thought were good enough to greenlight now.

They are standalone movies. This is like getting mad at DC for publishing a Clayface mini when you want more of the Superman line.

You're annoyed with those two movies because you're approaching this whole thing as a "gotta watch them all" consoomer mindset. MCU tried to turn whole movies into episodes of a big TV show and its sucks balls. Its bogged down in all the same bullshit of Big 2 capeshit comics.

Sgt Rock and Clayface are like the big-screen version of a 6 issue mini series. Read it or don't read it. Its not supposed to be connected to whatever the big event is that the main comics are building to. Its just a standalone comic story.
